Surrounded!

For the sake of participation, I've thrown together an entry for the Battles contest!

Image
(The photo is link to the Flickr page.)

Poor old bill! He's been jumped by a battalion of undead skeletons, and
is slowly getting pushed back towards the edge of a cliff! With only a trusty sword his father left
him after his death, Bill will have to fight his way back to safety. Will he make it?

The whole base of this vig was just lying around from an unfinished moc, so I decided to use it for the contest. While this won't count as a vig for the contest, I still refer to it as such. Also, I decided not to white out the backdrop, and leave it grey-ish. I like it this way, and am curious what you good people of Classic-Castle think. I'd appreciate your opinion.

God bless, and thanks for looking!

I like the tie-in of action both above and below. It's important for a small entry to have eye draw and no dead space. This design is not overly complex nor simple, but the minifigures and the waves tie the overall whole together well. That's me two bricks.

I particularly like the water effect (much better than mine :( ), but the whole thing is very nice.

About the backdrop: I think this works well, as it stops the skeletons from fading into the background, but doesn't detract from the model in any way.

The waves also caught my attention as well as the rock face. The overhang and the way the rock looks a little dished-out in the middle from erosion from the waves gives it a very realistic appearance.

Very nice vig, love the water. As for the background, I like it. I find the white photoshop background to stark and bright. This is calmer and makes the actual scene easier on the eyes. Nice!

Thank you everyone, for your kind comments! I appreciate it.

There are two things I must say about the waves though. The first is that they were slightly inspired by Aculon's mountain rapid ride. The second, is that I actually don't like the waves that much, but went with them anyway, since I was lazy...

Thanks for your comment on that! I remember Robin Hood saying something similar. I may start using this and the completely whited-out background. I'm kind of reluctant to get abandon the photoshop background completely, as I still like it somewhat.

God Bless.
