Ok I've gone to some sites and I've seen characters with black samurai armors, but as far as I now Lego has never made black samurai armors.
Do you guys really paint those things?

Hmm, I'm pretty sure LEGO makes black samurai armor
It comes with
This Minifig
and as far as I can tell he only came in the set
shown here
but for the price.....your better off painting a dark grey samurai armor
Hope that helps,

There was one special, not widely distributed set that had the black armor. Not to mention overpriced ($4 for a single fig). I was lucky in that the Downtown Disney Lego store put them on sale for $2 and I bought a literal armload.

Hmmmm.....
You know, I always thought before that those were painted, but since that dude was never available around here, and since I never ran across him before, that's not surprising.
But I have seen them painted (my brother painted one: it looks pretty good), and for the price of one of those things, I suggest you do it. But I'll let TTK tell you what paint to use, and how to go about getting it and doing it.

I agree, buying the real one might be more, I don no official? Anyway, I would just by some gray and paint em. It looks about as good, you can't tell the differnce except really close up, and its cheaper.

I have about 20 of those black armors. They come from the Samurai Warlord fig.

I was checking bricklink, but I couldn't find any - how much do they go for now? The gray samurai armor actually seems to have a reasonable price, though - I've never been a great believer in paying a huge premium for the exact same piece that is simply a different color.

JP is really good at spending money.

I have five of the black armor and I wish I had had a little more foresight and bought a bunch more. I wouldn't paint over a dark gray one though, even though I have 160 of them. I just can't bring myself to paint over any. Could be that I am a terrible painter.

I think I have 30 or so black ones, and I've always been tempted to try and get the lamellar color vs. lacing color multi-tone effect, but even I haven't been willing to paint a black one yet. Perhaps I'll try on one of the gray ones, which I have a lot of and can acquire more of a lot easier than black.

The black armor is my favorite of the 2. They were the best armor for black knights before KK2. I think I bouht about 15 of them when they came out, and 5 when I went to the Florida Lego store. I wish I had more...I have at least 7 B. Knights without armor
The dark grey was the easiest to come by-there was a 5 dollar set that came with a Shogun, horse, armor, gold plume, and a sword. Best set value after Black Monarchs Ghost IMO.

Well, I have zero

, so you are better off than me.
And if I did own some samurai armor in any color, I'd never paint them!
