Entrance to Khelduran

Post by MrTS »

Hi all!

Its been a while since i last posted here. I havent build with lego for a while, but i just finished my latest MOC. I know the landscaping is a bit basic, but i wasnt in the mood to build anything more complex haha. Please forgive me :D

Entrance to Khelduran

In this scene we see the entrance to the dwarven city Khelduran. A city where the mighty Stonehammer dwarves live. The entrance to the city is a massive statue of a famous dwarf. Between its legs are two great gates guarded by two dwarves. When its dark light can be seen through a couple of windows in the mountain. It looks like a cosy place to live...On the right side of the huge statue is a small corridor where a dwarf is on look out. From here the dwarves can spot anyone approaching their city. Two sinnister looking persons approach the dwarven gate...What are they up to?

The first one seems to be a cripple old man...But whats this?!? The second one is a greenskin?!?! What a nerve to bring such a foul creature to the dwarven gate! That old man will have to pay for this insult! His intentions can't be good...but what can a single old man do against these mighty dwarves with their massive gate?....

Here is a deeplink because the folder isnt public yet: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/MrTS/ ... uran/1.jpg

And here is the folder when public: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=425649

And one last note:
Remember in my previous moc (Golden Tulip hotel http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=391915) i introduced Mister Fish? I annouced back then that i will hide mister fish in my futur mocs. This MOC will be the first with Mister Fish hidden in it....Can you find him? The one who finds him first earns a cookie!! :tasty:
You want a piece of me?!?!

Wow, that's pretty amazing. I love the little windows set into the rock (upper left), and the sort of ramp/path in the foreground. Can't wait to see the rest of the pics!

Wow, I love the image of the giant dwarf in the stone. I also like the little lookout post in the wall above, but my favorite part is the snowy scene outside. It just fits the scene so nicely and looks great.

Your MOC is great! At first glance, it looks like it would snow.

Oh, and Mr. Fish is where he should be, in the pond! :raiseone: (best to see in 9922.jpg)

Really nice MOC. The big dwarf at the entrance looks very good and dwarf-like.

First off, this looks fantastic, the snowy-ness, the d e a d tree, the frozen pond, and how the statue does look like a dwarf. But I don't understand why the hammer is levitating off the dwarf statue's shin. I looked through the whole gallery, so I know I'm not looking at it from a weird angle. Oh well, the moc looks awesome. And congradulations on getting this on the Brothers-brick!

Thanks all for the cool replies i really appreciate them! :)

@Skalldyr :
Yup! You earned your cookie! Here ya go! :tasty:

@Forestboy:
Originally it was the plan to have the dwarf hold the hammer, but i had problems posing the fig because the hinges weren't strong enough. So after messing around i came with this solution, which i think looks really nice as well. It isn't supposed to look like the hammer is levitating but like the hammer is hanging on his side in a belt of some sort...

Again thanks for all replies guys!
