MOC crusader castle!

Post by ratmfan »

hi everyone,

many of you may have seen this posted on lugnet, but i just wanted to share it. it is my second attempt at a castle, and i was very happy with the results.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=49567

i tried to go with the more assymetrical design, as the castles i have seen are not always laid out symmetrically. anyway, let me know what you think, and hope it helps someone else get ideas for castles of their own!

thanks
steve

Hey Stephen!

Looks great! Probably a more realistic representation than anything that i'll ever make. But then, I like symetry and fantasy castles! :)

Welcome to the site and keep the cool MOCs coming!

Steve,

That's a really nice castle. I really like the vertical-ness of it, and the almost random pattern of levels and windows. Is there any interior to this, or is it what we see in that gallery?

Steve,

I've said it before, and I'll say it agian. I think this MOC of yours is AWESOME! I mean, come on, I took direct inspiration from it to create my Stonebarrow Keep! That's gotta mean something, right? :)

Awesome job, if your second castle went as well as this, your third should be a knock out!

totally! really, i am honored that i could help inspire someone, and i really like the way you put it together, especially with the landscape. i dont have any landscaping bricks, hence, just grey surrounds my castles.

Awesome job, if your second castle went as well as this, your third should be a knock out!

one can only hope, but, it will be awhile off. my two major interests are pirate ships and castles, so i kind of alternate them off building them. right now, i am just on the tail end of perfecting (yes, perfecting :D ) my most recent ship. and, i have just discovered a passion for another hobby that, sadly, drains lots of money away from my lego fund. oh well, but, i will be doing some more later, and i hope to start on interiors, as both of my castles thus far have been shells. in any case, i love the site, its awesome how you guys were able to bring all the castle heads under one roof, and here's to many long hours spent staring at MOC's on my computer screen!

thanks
steve

Yes, again !
Like my comment on news.lugnet about your MOC:

Great ! and of course a crusaders-MOC ! :)
Best of it: it's so tall (high?) - Great proportion !

Did you noticed my "white lion castle" on http://www.gerkens.org/lego.html ?

Of course a castle for the crusaders. ;)

I'm a bit confused as to why so many people like to drag up these old posts. This castle was posted almost FOUR years ago. While it is quite nice, it seems unlikely that the original poster is still paying attention to this thread.

Enough with the old posts.

That looks cool.
I like the entrence because you can put archers there to keep enemies from getting in!
The color is also good. My castles are usually...erm...random and red...
Good job!

This looks great. The asymmetry of your design makes it look fantastic. It not only looks good, but it looks like it would have a lot of playability with all those levels. Great work.

Why oh Why do people keep pulling up old threads?

On the subject of this castle, I agree. It looks great.
I have a complaint. Where is the landscaping?
The design is excellent, but it looks kinda intresting with the grey baseplate and grey castle.

This is an excellent MOC, but IMO it needs some more details.

Great job.

That would be because Anthony Sava based his Stonebarrow Keep off of this MOC.
