Temple of the Knights Flawnponderer
Following the disastrous Flan Tuesday Coup of 1236, the once widespread profession of flawnpondery was outlawed across the land. Now only a handful of loyal flawnponderers keep the spirit of improving patisseries alive. Meeting in their ancient temple off the Baltic Coast, as the island gradually disintegrates beneath them, they sit - and think.

Nicely played. Is the Flawnponderer contest back somewhere that I've missed?

Josh,
Flawn pondering was a
CCCVI entry. I think this grew out of discussion in chat and was also inspirational for the Job Mullers' contest.

Indeed Josh and Bruce that did come out of chat...it was aliencat's idea which did spawn the Job Mueller's contest...but I digress.
Slyowl...you did a great job and made me smile and laugh so hard. Your story was great. Your build was too. Thank you for joining this contest..it was truly a joy to see your entry.

So what happend in the Flan Tuesday Coup? They weren't trying to dress up their flans with strawberries and whipped cream, were they? If that were they case, I think they were most justifiably outlawed.
I like the way you achieved a hollow structure but with a definitely solid look to it. Just changing the color scheme around, I could see this model translated into a big hollow oak tree in a Robin-Hood-Hide-Out type of structure. I also like the simple touch you added of setting the rowboat at a tilt. That's just the thing needed to help give the impression of a stormy sea breaking against the rocks.

That is a classic secret society idea. Having the rock island with a little council on it is brilliant. Love the execution even more. Great work.

Ah, Flan Tuesday. Unfortunately all records have been lost, bar a fragment of parchment bearing the words
ye straweberie...
Thanks, I love building ruins incorporated into rockscaping. I wasn't best pleased with the cake bit; I did like how it came out (my sister said it looked so good that she licked it... no comment!), but it felt a bit perched on top, and not integrated fully. Then again, the whole ring was under considerable stress, so doing anything to it could have been risky.

Thanks Blue, glad you liked it! Thought it was about time the Flawnponderers rose again from the ashes

I like it a lot. It really looks like the island is disintegrating. Good job!
