Tomb of the Beloved

Built by a king for his beloved queen, the tomb has withstood for centuries.

As with everything, it is slowly crumbling into the sea and land, as nature retakes that which was lost.

In so many ways, this MOC is a beginning and end. While I was married, the majority of my collection sat in storage. The marriage is being dissolved, and I made some pretty drastic life changes. One of the benefits of this is that my collection is once again out and workable.

My very first MOC that I posted here at Classic Castle was the Ruins of Mourning. This is a nice parallel to that. It was totally unintentional, but welcome nonetheless. Ironically, the MOC can represent so may things in my life this last year.

I've actually been working on this for ages, but photography is a bit difficult without a decent light source. So there are no "overall" photos, but hey. I work with what I got.

For those of you that are curious, there are fifteen Claymore blades in this MOC.

Comments, questions, queries, and criticism are welcome!

This is lovely. It's nice to see a moc from you after all this time. The growth surrounding everything and the crumbling building was pulled off nicely.

Incredible effect with this! The lovely architectural ruins as well as the crumbling bits on the ground are really well done. Great job with the foliage and statue as well. A terrific scene you have here Plums!

Not only is the creation itself fantastic in it's own right, but the way you took the photograph is amazing. And wow, that's a LOT of claymores. :twitch:

Great job overall. I haven't seen such a nice, calm yet complicated creation in a long time. :)

Beautiful, the scene is so tranquil and conveys a sense of sadness...

One of my favorite small scenes in quite a while. Nicely done. :)

Amazing......Im nearly speachless. It brings such an atmosphere of somber remembrance. Memories fade and nature may reclaim, but his beloved's memories remain eternal.

Ok so I most likely read too much into it, but it hits my creative side a lil.

This is a really beautiful, haunting build. It seems to me to be a testament to the passing of time and the effect it has on everything, even that which we think never be tarnished by its passing. Very well done.
