It's clever and I like it. However, my only quibble is that I think it would look better if the rest of the parts were grey instead of black. I still like it though so understand that it's a minor quibble I have.

Great idea! Might have to buy some skates now... yeah I can concur with Tycho, making it all the same color gray, although it would be nice to use dark brown for the handle. The gem in the bottom is an excellent touch for a Dwarven hammer! Will use this sometime.

Ecar --- The part you mentioned actually looks bulkier when put in to practice, and when a light saber rod is used for a handle it looks less appealing -to me- than the telescope part I used for a handle on my moc...I hope this makes sense...

My only other idea is, would there be any way to flip the telescope over so he could hold it lower down on the handle?

This is a very ingenius use of a part that I thought would only have one use. I might have to pick up some more hockey players or ice skaters so I can do this.
