CCC Rules
I know this is very early to be asking about the CCC, but I vagualy remember arule about not being able to enter a MOC that you had already posted. I just recently finished a tower. Would I be able to post it now and enter it in November?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: CCC Rules
The CCC will announce in November, but no you can not enter builds that have been shown online before the start date of the contest.

Re: CCC Rules
I'm pretty sure that you could do what some do and wait to post it online and hope that it fits in a category. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Re: CCC Rules
He specifically asked if he could enter something that was posted online prior to the beginning of the contest. None of the previous CCC contests have allowed that. WIP pictures weren't allowed prior to the contest date either. Yeah, you can build in advance, but nothing could have been shown online.

Re: CCC Rules
Building in advance is risky as you never know the crazy categories that the admins may create!

Re: CCC Rules
I have noticed that there seems to be a miscellaneous category that people will enter things that they've obviously made in advance, as they post them within a day or so of the contest opening. I think it's wise to think of this entry point; last year I made something rather nice, but I had a goal of getting it posted on Halloween, just because it was vaguely spooky, sort of. Then the next day I realized it would have been fine for the CCC, except for the whole posted-a-day-too-soon thing. Anyway, it's just good to keep in mind.

Alright, thanks. I'll refrain from posting.

Re: CCC Rules
I have a similar situation with a new model I've just finished, but have shelved because I'd like to participate in the CCC this year. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that, while providing fun and interesting new categories this year, the admins will continue the past practice of including a catch-all miscellaneous category.

Re: CCC Rules
I was wondering how this rule applies to partially recycled MOCs... I have some basic environments (mountains, a dock, a cliff, rivers) that I recycle for different MOCS, must EVERYTHING be completely new?

Re: CCC Rules
If the parts have been seen online, then I would say no you can not reuse them. The admins are clear with the moc had not been seen online before the start of the contest.
Re: CCC Rules
Am I allowed to use bricks that I've used before in a MOC published online?
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs

Basically, if we can tell they are old then its out. I recommend you build completely from scratch because it improves your skills.mitah wrote:I was wondering how this rule applies to partially recycled MOCs... Re: CCC Rules
What about animate objects, utensils, and volume change? I'm mostly wondering about inhabitants. I've built alot of utensils creatures and characters who are hoping to inhabit the CCC MOCs but to some degree they have been veiwed as "stand alone"...JoshWedin wrote:Basically, if we can tell they are old then its out. Josh
Examples:
Animate objects: Building a forest: I have a previously posted ent who is dwarfed by the moc in general but can, and has, stood alone. Can he live in some tiny corner of the picture? Obviously something like a dragon wouldnt work, but is there a margin for how significant the addition is?
Utensils: Say I enter a forest, inhabited by forestmen, can I give them compound bows?
Volume change: I've posted one serpent fly, say I built 4 more and they were flying around. same tecniques new volume.
What are your thoughts?
Those were some of the questions i had floating in my mind, maybe asking them will help others out with theirs...
