Château de la Marche

Post by Left4bricks »

This is my very last castle, started in october and finished in beginning of january. It’s a frontier castle (la Marche) of the Lions which is maintained by Humbert de la Roche, vassal of king Charles III. The country, as you can see, is having numerous rivers. The keep is a little bit empty, because Humbert sent lot of his men to Château de la Rivière which is under siege of the Dragon’s knight faction. He has given the command of the keep to his best commander, Gérard le Rude (means a strong and hard guy), who also like some feasts with ministrels.

Nice, compact, clean lines - could maybe use a bit of detailing in the walls but having said that doesn't really suffer from BGW syndrome, perhaps because of the size. Lovely interior details too.

Yes a very nice castle moc. Of course there could be little more variety in the walls but I am not complaining about that cause I don`t own that much bricks so I could do it to the castles I make. Great details inside the castle and I like the surroundings very much. Great job :D

Thanks for c omments!

As you said, it's a bit "grey overall". I don't know how it could happen, but i totally missed that there is no color variety in the walls. But for my next castle, i will think about it.

Very nice. I like the castle's foot print, well laid out like all your castles. Great landscaping and water details, especially the rock sections. You seem to be really churning these out quickly recently, do you keep them together or dismantle 'old' models first?

Nice moc! The interior is well done, and the feast scene is particullarily festive.
You would rather be building right now.

@ Darkspawn : i dismantle every time old models before starting new one (except when i use different items, ny example i made in the same time Château de la Rivière and the Chapel d'En). But i dismantle fastly because i'm excited by the idea to build a new model

@ Eklund : the idea was, as the master of the keep was at war, the intendant was able to get some pleasure.

Ah! I see now that you and I have some similar building techniques... someday I will post pictures! Very well done.
