Classic-Castle.com

This is a pic of Quelta the Emerald Isle, my Lego castle fantasy world, viewed from the west which is the Endless Sea of the Setting Sun. I apologize for my dismal photography and computer skills. I promise to get better. Quelta is the ever-evolving result of around 15 years of Lego playing and building with my kids. In order to fit all our races (gods, humans, elves, dwarves, orc, etc) and factions within the races (like high elves,wood elves and dark elves) into the space we have, we had to forego, for the most part, the kind of elaborate and/or minifig-scale structures that the best MOCers wow us with. The tight spaces in the jam-packed isle also mean we build and fight our Lego battles on the kitchen table--but not near suppertime. Given my small Lego budget, many of the Queltic landscapes are still rather sparse, but that should be fixed in another 15 years or so. Look for more pics of Queltic castles and minifigs in the future. You can see some of them at the Brickshelf account in my signature below. Hope you find our Lego world interesting. Since I am a newbie to CC, I am wondering if anyone else has taken the "world building" as opposed to "diorama building" approach that we have?

wow!the size of this is incredible I like the "broken up" feel to it(looks like a lot of islands clustered together).

That looks like it was a ton of fun to build. I am sure your kids love it, I sure would have. I especially like all of the height to it, with all of the towers and mountains.

I like your lava fountain it has nice flow to it.. I'd like to see more of how you did that. The Disneyland castles looks great too

It does indeed look like islands, but actually it is one main landmass with four major peninsulas and many small islands (most of the islands employ the standard 16x16 isle baseplate). As to size it is 7 and 1/8 (32x32) baseplates east to west and 8 and 1/2 (32x32) baseplates north to south. And to think it started out those years ago on a single card table with 3 32x32 baseplates each direction. Trouble is, darn LEGO keeps coming out with such great castle stuff I fear I am going to have to get another table to feed my addiction.

This is awesome. I'll definitely need more time than a current quick peek at work will allow. Will come back and edit this post with more (see "better" and "substantive") comments later.

Keep up the good work! You'll need a whole room pretty soon, not just another table!

And the fun just keeps going. The number of hours we have spent playing or building this Lego world is probably close to the number of Lego bricks and pieces in Quelta! About the mountains: I love the size and quantity of them but feel so-so about their quality--too many BURPS and LURPs. But I have plans to improve them.
