Norman Keep

Following their victory at Hastings, the Normans needed a way to hold on to their new lands. At first, motte and bailey castles were proposed as a short-term solution. But soon, these temporary wooden structures needed replacement. They were replaced by the Norman Keep:

The complete Norman Keep model stands at over 17 inches high. The front guardhouse/entrance with a working portcullis pulls off, allowing access to its interior. Each level also pulls off, including four successive floors linked by a brick-built spiral staircase. The second floor is furnished, including beds in the guard room. The basement is unfinished (as all good basements are), I just never got around to finishing it.

I had a lot of fun building this, it was more of a "What do I want to build, now let me go buy what I need". I more forced my collection to grow into this model.

Nice model! The grey corner accents add some nice contrast and the interiors are excellent, especially the circular staircases

Neat color scheme, and I love the realism in this build. I also like the way you did the thinner arrow loops - the use of jumper plates was clever.

It's got a classic feel to it, but it's very historically accurate as far as I can tell. The color scheme is great, and all around it's a fantastic MOC.

Will be looking forward to seeing more, no doubt fantastic, creations from you in the future.
