Well, I built some space-y stuff for the BrickForge Galaxies project, and suddenly realized it doesn't have to be that far from Castle

That's very true. Change the minifig accessories and you're good to go.
I remember reading once that Star Wars was a fantasy story, that the bad guy had a laser sword and a ray gun. And that Star Trek was sold as a western with a spaceship instead of a wagon train.
