My first model of something real. Istar gate doesn't exists now. There are a lot of reconstructions of it.
I don't know if they are Lego models of this ancient monument, so if you saw some, please let me know.

You did a fantastic job in recreating this iconic monument! I especially love the shaping of the battlements, and the decorations on the towers with the minifig hands. The arch technique with the angled plates is a great feature too, the studds add a nice texture. Great work all in all!

The walls in itself are really simple, but man, those details are so awesome. Awesome moc!

Really well done. So cool to get all of that detail at that scale. Have you seen the reconstruction? It's at a museum in Berlin - large portions of the actual bricks were transported to Berlin and re-assembled. The same museum has a huge Greek temple, btw. It's really cool to see it in person.
I have seen one other LEGO version before. I've got no idea who built this huge version, but it was on display at a French AFOL event:

For real - never, but on photos - of course, it was my pattern.

I don't have any digital photos, as I was there years ago, and I think my photo album is in my parents' basement. Here, however, is the Wikipedia entry, which has a photo:

It's like the Ishtar gate - they transported all of the statues and columns etc from a ruin in Turkey and reassembled them. So you can see the main entrance in that photo, and then the reliefs that ran along the outside of the original temple are on the walls of the museum - a bit like that part of the temple is turned inside out. I've only been to Europe once, and didn't get down as far as Greece, so this was the closest I've ever been to walking through Greek ruins. It's pretty amazing, as is Ishtar. According to the Wiki entry there are some other large reconstructions as well, but I mainly remember those two things.

Very nice image of the actual building. The idea of using minifigs' hands is simply fantastic. All this is quite simple by its construction, but still refined. What I like the most is the middle part, these blue plates fit pretty tight to each other.
By the way, it was quite a surprise for me when I saw the author's name - seemed pretty familiar... ;P

That's a pretty cool building! I like all the symbols on the wall, they remind me of the pi symbol! Which sort of reminds me how bad I did on my last calculus test... But that's not related! Awesome build!

I really like the use of the plates to create that arch. I will have to borrow that technique sometime!
