And I'd certainly love to have a return of the Castle theme! I, unlike most, only have 4 crownies! I'd need to beef up their numbers a bit before they could be a serious faction of mine. Could this mean, if it came back, that the rumored LEGO Elves would make an appearance? I wonder. Granted, LOTR is in full swing (which makes me very skeptical of this, but it IS rumor season) but I feel like LEGO brand elves would be much easier to integrate with many people's Castle realms (those silly fleshies mess everything up )

A rumor of similar calibre, but completely different subject matter is happening on Eurobricks. Claims there say, that there will be a new Castle theme that is either a continuation of the LEGENDS theme, or a revival of classic factions/remakes of new sets. All speculation, of course, but interesting how there are these two starkly different reports.

My friend, if this IS true, you've definitely given us a wonderful update and surprise, so glad you found this. This Theme of Castle was for sure one of my favorite out of them all so this is a wonderful find for me, and probably many others. Hopefully this is not just a rumor, but a true fact. Thanks for sharing!

I think groovebricks has got their wires crossed slightly. I believe the rumour is that TLG will be releasing (or re-releasing a set from the castle theme, rather than the 'Castle' theme. I think the confusion is with a theme name also carrying it's generic title. So we may see some castle sets, but unlikely to be a direct continuation of the earlier 'Castle' theme (if that makes sense?). We'll wait and see. But in the meantime series 9 CMFs are sounding promising!

Well, all I can say is speculation... I found some sets that appear in the "Legend" section in the brickshop.nl, an official Lego and Duplo dealer. There is no photos, so we can speculate many things about that.

Personally, I will be very happy if Lego re-release Castle 2007-2009 and double by triple happy if one of those sets be a classic theme castle totally renewed and remastered

According to other rumours on Eurobricks the Castle theme will include a modular castle or additions to a modular castle. It might just be a re-release of the Kingdoms or Crownies castle.
It has also been said that it will be knights vs knights with no fantasy characters involved. There's enough fantasy characters coming out in the LOTR line already.

The name Legends is a strange choice for a name seeing how we are already getting sets called Legend of Chima.
Legend make me think its a revival of the Legendary sets and factions. A meeting of the champions from past factions. That would be cool to see.
I'm hoping it's a remake of the Falcons castle to go with the knight from the Joust set.
Or it could be a remake of the original yellow castle in grey using a reinvention of the original factions from that set. [The Yellow Castle turns 35 next year]


Next year is going to be a great Lego year if the rumours turn out to be true

Whatever this is, It sounds great. Return of a Castle theme and if it is the return of the Fantasy era or not. WHOHOO
Speculations but knights against knights, remakes it is not a bad thing. Crownies agains what, a new faction or one of the old ones remade
And yeah this goes well with the fact that next year is 35 year mark for castle theme.

This will be intersting. I don't particularily have any emotional attachment to the Castle theme aside from the MMV. That said, I have been trying to get my hands on the Crownie sets. I don't care for the fantasy elements so I'm not after the main fantasy sets even if they have a Crownie or two, just the other way around.

But I'd be keen to see if it's revived Black Falcon's, re-released new old sets, an homage to the Yellow Castle or simply the continuation of the Castle lineup.

Interesting times. I've already started to try and get the LotR sets, The Hobbit sets are coming, there's still some old and not so old sets I'm chasing and now this. I'm not sure my pockets are deep enough. I'm going to have to sell more soft drinks at work to cover all this!!!

If this rumour is true it would be great. As a kid Castle was my favourite theme. The latest Kingdom series was great with the new shields and helmet.

I'm also a fan of LOTR (and I think I may be going against the main stream with making my minifigs fleshies) however I was sad to see it stick a knife in Kingdoms.

I hope this rumour is true and we get some new shields and armour.

In my eyes the Hobbit sets are rather weak, so I would really appreciate new generic Castle sets... if they are more on the realistic side like the MMV - even better.
I would also take a new Legends set over the Hobbit sets any time. I am really hoping for a remake of the Black Falcons Fortress in the style of the MMV

I agree I really don't think any of them are that great except the 79003 An Unexpected Gathering and maybe 79004 Barrel Escape isn't to bad either. Not really anything Castle like in these Hobbit sets so I'm hungry for the next wave of Castle sets to fill the void.

Hmm. If it's any sort of reliability, then I'm certainly interested. It's got the 5 digit standard, which of course someone could have made up the numbers for but I hope that it's a rumor worth something.

"Gatehouse Raid" has me particularly interested, if it has any merit.
