Realistically, William Wallace and Alfred the Great. Fictionally, Horace from Ranger's Apprentice, and Legolas and Sam from LOTR. one thing they messed up in DOS is that Legolas is too cool to have a girlfriend!

Legolas...meh. Sure, I like him a lot, but he's a little boring in the books and a little too good in the films! Sam, though, is just brilliant, the chapter where he fights Shelob (The Choices of Master Samwise) is by far the best chapter in the trilogy.

Edward the Black Prince (have been to his tomb at Canterbury - amazing), followed by Edward I. the 1300s were probably the peak of the medieval period from an English perspective
