Yes, way to do some teamwork! Murphy's law also dictated the fact that it stopped raining as soon as my mom spent $100+ on rain jackets for me and my sisters.

Re: Do you think that TLG will bring back the Elephant?
I'm always up for more animals to add to my collection, and I have not held an elephant in my hands. I've seen it before (I vaguely remember seeing them in the LEGO store displays for Orient Expedition sets back in 2004-ish), but I've never been able to get the feel and inspiration from having an elephant.
Now, the question in my mind is: Would they bring back the elephant unchanged, (ala the breastplate, IIRC, was brought back after years of inactivity?) or would there be a more modern elephant mold? We've seen LEGO changing a lot of staples recently in the animal department with the new dogs and horses, so I think there is a possibility of a revamped model.

Re: Do you think that TLG will bring back the Elephant?
My best guess on that has to do with the age. Is the elephant 25 yr old of a mold? If so, then possibly. But the mold is the question, does it still exist? I have been told molds cost a huge amount. I can't see them remolding an older animal. It might just be worth re-designing if they are going to.Now, the question in my mind is: Would they bring back the elephant unchanged, (ala the breastplate, IIRC, was brought back after years of inactivity?) or would there be a more modern elephant mold? Re: Do you think that TLG will bring back the Elephant?
Elephants were available in 2003 exclusively, I think. I can't imagine they wore the mold out in a single year. Interested what others with more knowledge of the subject might think.
Many of the other components (tail, trunk) are still in production, or have been recently, I think.

It is a cool set. You get the little Indian guy with a red turban and the cloth piece too.Bluesecrets wrote:It might actually be cheaper to buy the set it came from other than the actual elephant itself. I did that once as a gift for good old Elephant Knight. I don't remember if I kept the set and just gave him the elephant. Either way, it was a good gift.

I think they would re-design them if they brought them back, for the reasons Blue stated. The design could use a bit of an update, too, so they might even look better

Re: Do you think that TLG will bring back the Elephant?
Here is another thought on this. The new bear and the warg, were "bigger" animals. Both smaller than the elephant. Both I believe (sorry too early in the AM to go checking facts...plus I'm late for work) were in sets that are either around or over $30. Would they release a set under $30 with an elephant in it? I don't know. But it is a good question. Well you would get parts with the elephant, but would could afford to build an army of them?
Now mind you, I would really like to see them come back. Maybe in a brown or dark tan color.

Re: Do you think that TLG will bring back the Elephant?
Would I like them to? Possibly (I actually have one already...)
Do I think they will? Probably not.

Ooooh, a mammoth would be cool.Bluesecrets wrote:Now mind you, I would really like to see them come back. Maybe in a brown or dark tan color.

Re: Do you think that TLG will bring back the Elephant?
I would think that brown or dark tan would be unlikely, unless it were a new mammoth mold. Give any 10-yr old a picture of an elephant and a box of crayons, and they'll color him gray, regardless of semblance to colors actually found in the wild. (I agree that dark tan would possibly be more accurate)

Well, we may get some brick built mammoths, because apparently this summer in Legends of chima they are making a mammoth tribe with vehicle, and since most of the chima tribes seems to get vehicles based on the animal, it's reasonable to suspect that we may get a mammoth walker.

Re: Do you think that TLG will bring back the Elephant?
Well I put a "please bring back the elephants" from the land of castle in at the ambassador forum for all of us. Here is hoping that it actually gets seen, heard and granted...some day.
