Really excited that this made it through the review! Can't wait to see what the final product looks like. And maybe, just maybe, we'll see goats in a set again?

Interesting that another Castle drought is saved by a fan-designed blacksmith shop.

I will almost certainly buy this, but I hope they clean up the roof a bit.

I really like the earthy palette.

Very cool! I'm still not a huge fan of the Ideas process as a whole, but I have to admit we've gotten some very cool sets from this.

The other upcoming Ideas set is also a winner for castle fans, IMO:

With really no modification the building could be a home in a castle fantasy setting, and all the building and plant pieces are useful for us.

This is awesome news. Maybe this means that we could see castle again soon!

I'm always happy to see non licensed sets get through review on Ideas. I'm likely to pass on this, due to more budgeting reasons, but you never know.

Didn't a pirate island make it through recently, too? I bet that one, too, will be useful for Castle builders.

While it's nice to see this set come through, it's also sort of disappointing that it's a rip off of the original Blacksmith AFOL set though certainly more detailed (of course we'll see how that detail holds of to the process of being turned into a set).

I like to think of it as more of an homage than a ripoff.

I saw a Facebook post or response from Daniel Siskind that made it sound like he saw it as more of a ripoff.

An homage would call out to his original (maybe that will be part of the set?).

I find it a little hard to believe that I'm the one breaking the news on this, but we have an [url=https://www.brothers-brick.com/2021/01/01/fi ... -set-news/]image[/url] of the final version of the set. Not to bad, in my opinion, although it's been simplified somewhat from the original submission. And good grief, but that's a lot of shield tiles.
