Sesame Street Ideas set

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

LEGO announced the newest Ideas set, 21324, 123 Sesame Street (Hmm, couldn't they have broken set numbering convention and just called this 123, or 12345?) (I checked, there was a set 123 back in 1969, but no 12345 set exists). Anyway, no castle connection, but this set makes me all happy inside.

Back in the 70's I had a Fisher Price playset that was almost exactly this LEGO set. I searched around on Flickr and I think the one I had was this:

That set folded up as in the picture here, or you could open it to make a full city block on the front side and have access to the rooms inside on the back.

That looks very neat. Maybe not a castle set, but it sort of has a castle-y vibe to it. Even big bird sort of reminds me of some of the fantastic creatures you sometimes find in illuminated manuscripts. I'm having trouble getting over the irony that it's marked for ages 18+. Thanks for posting. :)

I totally love it. It will be on my wish list.

But I am slightly worried about minifigs and toddlers.

What age toddlers? By age 2 our youngest was playing nicely with minifigs. But neither of our kids felt much need to taste their toys.
