Troll Bridge Heist

Post by Piglet »

Hello

This is my entry for CCC18 The Great Heist category.

Troll Bridge Heist

An Orc Pack made some diversion to distract the Troll and to get his cash register!

I love it! The bridge is my favorite part. The angles of the tiles create a run down stone look making the bridge feel quite old. The concept itself, while not original, your implementation is. The other part I really like about the MOC is the color combinations, especially in the trees and the fallen leaves. The dark red, orange and green work well together for a deep-in-the-forest look.

My two suggestions would be to angle the limb elements in the trees - they look great from the top, but straight on, they are too flat. I would also avoid the corners used in the stream. It seems like the sand green is algae on the bank - which is great, but the sharp and cornered transition to the middle of the stream is off putting.

The bridge is the highlight here--and it should be, but you've also created a nice sense of movement with the fig/cart/trolls/horse posing. Sweet MOC. :)

Thanks

I agree that trees and square swamp line are the weakest parts of this MOC : o)
