Keep for an Enclosure Castle

(Not sure if "enclosure castle" is the correct term, but it seems to encompass the idea.)

I've been wanting to build a castle keep with opening sides and an operational drawbridge for some time, but not wanting to use large castle wall sections its taken longer than expected.

http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/5995 and http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=102241

The keep is designed to be built into my 15 high walls as the main building of a Dunstanburgh style castle. Two towers and a gatehouse will complete the main fortifications.

9 high walls connecting to the main towers will enclose the town buildings and harbour, and I'll probably use 6 high walls around the slums and/or leper colony (if they're lucky enough to get walls that is!)

As a few examples of the desired effect ...
... with James' castle as a backdrop
... without James' castle (and hence the need for an alternative  )

Very nice castle. It's clean and simple right now, but I can tell, it's gonna be loaded with detail when finished. Keep up the great work!

Hello!

I like this keep.
The building tells well that you knew what you were working there.

Very nice Castle. It looks quite.... solid. And finished. And somewhat unique.

It's nice to see you don't have qualms about using the bigger, pre-mould pieces.

Great job.

Great job dude! This keep rocks! It has a sence that it is "finished". I really like the steps/causeway leading up to the draw bridge. And I also like the details inside. Keep up the good work!

... just an update

... the design of the corner tower is complete. It now "just" needs rendering in ABS! The tower joins 9 high and 15 high walls together. One side is hinged and there are spiral stairs in the lower part.

... and an idea of how the various modules in my system could be combined - http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1002119

That looks really nice! I can hardly wait to see the detail inside. It must have taken a long time to make on LDraw, good work.
