Mountain Pass Outpost by Andrzej M. Szlaga aka Shaggie

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

Andrzej M. Szlaga, aka Shaggie, recently posted a cool Mountain Pass Outpost, sort of a souped-up BFF design.

I really liked the "mountain pass outpost". It should be an official lego set.

Shaggie is one of my favorite castle builders. I really think he rivals castleElement!

Its so simple, yet beautiful!

Love it!

I like the way he did the three fold so it opens up and you can see the insides of the rooms.

The gatehouse is pretty cool too.

Actualy, coming back to this, I do have one suggestion. I really think he needs to make better batlements on the back towers, they just don't seem to be doing their job. Maybe adding some facet bricks could change that.

Very nice design! It really fits the spirit of the Black Falcon, 1980's classic LEGO castle. I like the Tudor section on the back, and the gatehouse itself. I don't know how keen I am on the statue above it, something just doesn't look right about it. Good job Shaggie!!

Thank you all for such kind words. The round towers seems to be unfinished, because I completely run out of gray bricks.
As I wrote in the description, I've decided to make the Outpost when I was visiting huge Teutonic fortress in Marienburg last year. I've uploaded pictures from this trip to my MAJ gallery - I think some of the pictures can be good source of ideas and inspiration for all Castle builders.
