custom Knights

Post by swordfish »

Hi
These are some custom Knights. I made the shiny armour from really thick aluminium foil. I know they aren't that exact, but it's hard to work with so small pieces.

The designs of the falcons are really great. I like what you have done with the knights and the helmets, but I think the best part is the horses. I like the custom bardings, and the helmets are just great. The way you layered the foil down the backs of their necks is a great touch.

Nice work!!

now thats an interesting concept. I wonder what it'd be like to cut up some aluminum cans, file down the edges (no owies please) and build up some armor that way...

I think you did a pretty good job, though some of the edges could be more even (like you said.. hard to work with small pieces like that). I like the barding the best.
all in all great work dude.

That looks pretty cool. I like the way you made the helmet. Is it very durible since its just foil?

So why am I looking for copper when I can cut up aluminum for nothing? Thanks for the suggestion! :D

Great work, specially on the horses! I think you got a good final result. I hope you don't mind, but I'll prolly use your idea on some of my knights too :)

i like the horses the most especially the horse helmets.
i know what you mean about small things. i made a spear using foil and it doesn't look that nice

i got some other customs there that are painted but they aren't that good because its hard to paint small

Freak: I've actually got an aluminum minifig armor piece sitting in front of me right now. I would scan it in and post it, but I already tried that; the scanner doesn't like aluminum, it just comes out as a glare. I'll post it soon when I get a camera that can take nice close-ups.

*edit* here's a few really bad scans of a bad version of aluminum armor:

Nice customs. I really like the horse neck barding. I also like the way you have done your Tunics and horse blanket with the white and black. I might try that using some left over canvas I have. Time to look for the heavy tin foil too. I have a Dragon Rider that could use some Dragon Barding.
Nice work.

Thanks for all the feedback. You're all welcome to use any of my ideas. It would be cool to see some customs made of aluminium foil by some of you.

I guess you wouldn't want to play around with it too much, as the foil bends pretty easily. Also the paper doesn't like too much handling.

Nice black sword. It looks almost mint-y. I love the way you did the metal parts of the bardings. Good work.
