Star Wars legos and the castle theme

Post by Aviah102 »

So I recently picked up one of those relatively new Star Wars Clone Scout Walkers, even though I am not a big SW fan. The sets are pretty interesting and I am thinking of picking up a few more, however, I would like to know how these sets(or their pieces) could be used for the castle theme. I plan on going to see the SW movie and I am sure I will be inspired by it, but I do not know how long that inspiration will last. Inspiration for the castle theme is, I have realized, unending and need to know if any of the SW sets can be used as MOC fodder before I make any purchases. In the end, I could just wait for the new castle themes. Ask questions if my topic seems too vague, thanks.

Hello, I am a huge SW fan.

The Wookie Cataraman (sp?) set and the Wookie Attack set, and some of the earlier ewok sets are great with the forrestmen theme.

Heres a pic of the Wookie Attack set: (the only problem is that huge orange cannon cart at the side.

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Anaki ... attack.jpg
and a folder : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=122779

and here is a pic of the Wookie cataraman, sorry that it only shows that part of the set (I didn't take the photos):

and heres another pic: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Ykcab ... 05/977.jpg

And lucky last, here are some pics of the earlier ewok sets. Good luck actually finding those sets, though:

Hope I helped!

Well, I suppose that any piece can be used in a castle moc, it just takes imagination.
That being said, however, I just dont have the imagination to use a heck of a lot of the new star wars pieces. :D
Recently I received both the little clone walker and the wookie attack (not the catamaran) and while I like both sets, and there are some pretty good pieces, mostly they ended up in the space box. My son plays with them.
I do use the wookies though... for dancing bears :D

I was wondering... the black fig (I'm not sure who that is supossed to be) in the catamaran... is that one of those fake-minifigs that requires a battery? I think it could make a neat sort of dark ruler, if it's an actual minifig... but if it's one of those new light-saber things.... :?

Heh heh heh... I couldn't tell - I thought it was a girl, but then I wondered if that pattern on her chin was a goatee or not...

Sheesh... that's even more of a shame! A femal minifig who would be the perfect sort of magic-user or evil queen... a LUL-fig.

I once saw a castle story that used wookies as Sasquatches. 8)

My SW sets tend to stay together for collection/display- even the one I got specifically to Castleize.

Jedi torsos- Desert Nomads, asian peasants
Old Obi Torso- peasant of any civilization
Jedi faces- excellent! Who doesnt use the Qui Gon face?
Saber hilt- connecting spears to lances for pikes, etc.
Aliens- wookies are sasquatches, etc etc. Wierd DnD beasts.
Yoda- goblins or gremlins?
Stormies and clonies- sell them, every SW fan wants atleast(as calculated):

28473473½.

Some pieces are useless, though. :?

Almost half of my lego city's population is full of SW minifig torso's ^_^
I tend to use Jedi robes; they work good for peasents
I also use Ewoks and even a few sandtroopers.

THAT's not a bad idea! If you get the chance and have the means wizardnoob28, I'd love to see a snapshot or two of that. So... a few quick questions about the LUL-fig in terms of mobility... nameley, can it move it's arms, legs and head like a normal minfig? :?:

I don't actually own one, but from my understanding the LUL figs move just like a normal fig except for the arm that has the light sabre. That arm is all one piece, and though the shoulder rotates, the hand does not, and the lightsabre is nonremovable. The head and legs are nonremoveable as well, AFAIK.

everything works well, except for one of the hands not twisting. Another thing i have found is that the head is loose. I pick it up and it's head twirls. and the pics wil com soon.

I also think that the Jedi robes look great under the armour. I never did like the armour under armour look of the original castle figs that came with armour. Of course I also don't like the blank torsos under the figs that come with armour now. I'm pretty hard to please. :)

Personally, I am collecting as many Gungans as I can find/afford.

Jaw-Jaws make perfect foils for my human troops to fight. After all, it only makes battle scenes more fun!

On the docket- a Jaw-Jaw firing catapult!
Water sleeps.
