Call it a "dim" age

Post by Dragon Master »

Hello Gents,

You may have noticed my utter lack of activity recently here. I've gone from multiple posts a day, to maybe a few every two weeks. I really don't know what is wrong with me, but I seem to not even be interested in this forum, and when I go and sit down in front of my bricks I just can't. You see I've never built anything really, and seeing all these great MOCS is making it harder and harder to start making things. I saw Freak's Viking fort the other day, and really wanted to make something nice like that, but I just couldn't do it.

So I'm taking some time off from LEGO, and I won't be posting much of anything for a while. I might try to draw some blueprints or something, and maybe every once in a while I'll go down and try to build, but I doubt you'll be seeing me or any of my creations for a while.

I'm not really calling it a Dark Age, becuase I still really do love LEGO and check the new pages on BS at least every other day. So I call it a "dim" age and I am truly hoping it isn't permanent.

DM Signing off (for now)

P.S. Please don't delete my account.

 I don't know you as much as some of the others in the forum, but I must say it's very saddening to see you go. Good luck in your dim age. If you can't bear it, I can always come and change that light bulb! Hope to see ya again before too long!

8) Take off your sunglasses, it's easier to see stuff. Hope you get out of your "dim" age soon Dragon Master. You mentioned having to go down to play with your Lego, is your stuff in a basement like mine? :P

Hmm... I know that feeling - I suck at MOCs, especially compared to the others here... and I know how frusterating it can be to make something after viewing the other folders... especially since they are so darn cool!

Anyway, a "dim" or even a "dark" age is perfectly understandable...and even expectable for most of us ( I think ). So... hope to see you soon!

Hey, Dragon Master!

I seem to remember this happening to you just over a year ago...

So don't worry about it!

Enjoy your time off, enjoy getting away from this crazy bunch, and we look forward to seeing you back, whether that be in a week, a month, or a year.

Oh, gee, I know how it feels. You look at some of these amazing MoC's and think: "How the megabloks am I supposed to top that!?" It kind of removes the simple fun of building. However, I'm gonna carry on collecting bricks, and one day I will beat you all in MoCing!

Maybe you can make time for just building... that is the most important part of the lego hobby... I know how it feels to be frustrated about your own ability. I sat down to create a 'masterpiece' last month and the result isn't so 'masterful' (dang that sounds odd, oh well you're only reading it...) But I learned a lot! And my next will be better and so on...

So one far off day JoJo beware :D :D :D! (LOL)

Hope to see you back soon,

God Bless,

Nathan

Hey DM,

You will be missed, man. Hope to see you back sooner or later. Build well and don't get rid of those black swords! :)

Don’t worry about not having the drive to build, we all loose it once in awhile and lets face it, even Lego can get old if too much time is spent on it (Yes, yes, I know, it’s total blasphemy).
