I love Star Wars, but I'm not the biggest SW LEGO fan...
STILL... have you seen some of the stuff they are coming out with for SW these days? LEGO is not messing around! First the Jawas, now this...

Not to mention Vikings and KK2... looks like LEGO is taking the MegaBlocks by the horns!

This was announced before the sandcrawler as long as I remember.

It's been on the site for a while, but now that you mention it, I finally realize that Lego's getting their act together! Why I didn't realize that before, I don't know, but things are definitely looking up.

Oh really? My fault, I guess I was caught up in a moment of ecstacy.
Still, I think it is a great illustration of the way LEGO is choosing not to back down from it's latest competition. Having no newer LEGO products for so long, I have flirted with the idea of buying a MB set now and again, but been chased away by their poor quality or designs, which sometimes seem more "playset" than building.
Now, gratefully, I will not have to face temptation again.

woa that death star should be big if they made it the right scale... anway, you're right, I've seen those viking sets and they look very good, and the new star wars sets are also great. I bought the Clone Scout Walker and was very happy with it, the clone troopers rock! Also, lego has put much more figs into the sets

What Lego is and has been doing with the Star Wars line proves that they were always capable of producing great sets. That is why I am baffled by what they have been releasing in the castle line.
Vikings are a step in the right direction, and I'm excited about getting some of the sets. Now if only they would put that kind of effort into the actual castle theme. I am confident that Lego is capable of producing sets that would rival the old classics, but it is impossible to do under the pretext of the fairy tale castle line they have going right now.
That said, Lego will HAVE to produce great and groundbreaking castle sets if they ever expect me to buy a grey castle again. Due to the color change... but lets not go down that road again.

I disagree... not impossible, just unlikely
Fairytale/fantasy could be a really great theme. Look at Middle Earth for example. Morcia, with some good writing, and some better castle designs could really rock.
