A Formidable Castle

Post by Dragonlord Esq. »

I found this on Brickshelf. It's not mine.

I'm not sure who's it is, but it's beautiful. Fantastical and yet realistic. No other pictures, unfortunately. I'd resize it and post the .jpg, but I'd rather use Brickshelf's bandwidth. :D

EDIT: It's Aidan's.

I have this One booked marked. I really love the way it sits. It kind of has a Lord of the Rings feel too it. In other folders in the Brickshelf Gallery there are other photos of it:

The doors are really big and strong!!

I like the castle itself (I agree, feels like Minas Tirith for some reason), but these squarish landscapes just don't do it for me.

I was gonna post this! :D :P But that's okay, lol.

This is one beautiful castle, even with the lack of foliage and other landscaping elements. My favorite part is the steps (grass?) to the front gate--really powerful-looking.

Hey guys.

I wonder what century this castle is supposed to be in. Perhaps the 15th century.

I think a few minifigs would brighten up this master piece. And a few flowers.

Hey thanks for noticing :D !

I realize Its a little dead  . I plan to liven it up.

Its completely modular, right down to the three levels of dungeons. Most of it is furnished, but I was not going to roll it out officially until finished.
Let them come...

Sorry to post it before you had a chance to finish, but I couldn't resist. It looks too good. Do any of the walls open to the interior?

Actually the whole thing nests together. So you can take all the roofs and all the levels off to see inside.

No problem that you posted it, you actually have inspired me to work on it some this evening! :D

Excellent work. A bit short on details, but easily corrected. I just can't wait to see the multi-level dungeon. The fact that it is modular will make it one to behold.
Why do you need all those minifigs? You'll poke your eye out!

Hey Aidan -

This is a great castle! I like the doors very much - they seem pretty imposing, and the castle design itself it pretty formidable. Great work so far - glad to hear that it's still being developed. :)
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar
1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.
