And the whole devine gallery (to borrow a turn of phrase from Athos):
Hey I've got a catch-phrase
Except I usually spell mine correctly
Anyhow, those are pretty good. I'm going to do a Loki vignette soon...

Dude, you've got me all freaked out! I'm just not seeing what I misspelled...
Can't wait to see your Loki vignette! I really liked your Odin and Thor vignettes you posted a while ago.

Don't freak out... its divine (not devine).

Thank you,

I very much like the look of that Heimdall character; he could be used in other settings as well. They all look very nice and the use of official elements is very good too.

What about Baldr, and Njord, Bragi, Forseti, and Hel?

Oh geez, I can't believe I missed that...

Edited.
TheBohrok, I certainly like to see a good customization (like TTK's stuff), but it's not something I do personally.
JPinoy, stay tuned.

My
Greek pantheon started out with just a few divine characters, but ended up with about 25.

Very, very cool. Your choice of heads is excellent, especially Odin and Loki. You captured their character very well. Can't wait to see more!

Very nicely done. Cool Thor's hammer. Big and powerful looking, just right.
Funny thing happen when the images were loading I was checking out Thor, the second fig. But instead Freya loaded before him and I thought Thor is wearing a bikini.
Yes your Loki looks right for the part.
Good job Dunechaser.

I think I should mention some mistakes:
Odin: Should have a dark hat when not in battle, and a sword which I just now cant fetch the name of out of memory. Another thing is that his cloak should be dark green, but those does not exist.
Thor: The error here is obvious, Thor was red haired. Ive actually written comics were Thor is out hunting stupid blondes imitating him (Marvel's Thor found himself a tragic end, mwhaha) rather than slaying giants... The hammer is cool, though I use the old megablocks smithy hammer, but thats heresy.
Freya: Nothing here, her hair color changes from blonde to red to even black. She does however, not fight if it isnt really really bad.
Frey: Frey is a peaceful individual, and does not carry arms or armor. Frey is often described to be a nudist.
Tyr: Tyr is described often to be blonde, but its no biggy.
Loki: Thats a very good representation of him, perfect face. His weapon changes often (he cut of the head of Mimer with a sword, stabbed giants with a dagger, etc) but its no biggy, he cant carry too many arms at once after all.
Skadi & Heimdall: Im not an expert of neither of them, but of what I know of Skadi its a good representation(but I think the axe torso would be better).
Great work. Thor's hair & beard offends me though. Please do not get inspiration from Nazi paintings!

I'm liking that hammer. I guess you purists do okay without the whole knife/glue+LEGO thing, But I think you're on top of that pile fig-wise.
Oh, and a question: How many non-frayed capes do you
have?

JW & SG: Thanks for the compliments! I think that Loki face actually comes in one of the Vikings sets (isn't it a KK2 knight as well?). I basically reused the hammer I made for my Diablo II
Druid.
Hordesman: Excellent feedback!

That's exactly the sort of information I was looking for, and I really appreciate it. I used
this site to get general descriptions, and then I did Google image searches to find versions that looked better than the stained-glass windows on that site. Unfortunately, I couldn't find nearly as many reliable reference pics as I did when I was researching the Greek Pantheon. (Lots of clutter from American comic books especially.) I really hate to take inspiration from Nazi imagery, as you say, so Thor is an
easy fix. Can you point me to a better site with more accurate reference pics?
E of Alshire: I think I have about fifty or sixty cloth capes. I stick all of them on an
antenna and hold them on with a 1x1 round brick. None of my capes are frayed.

Very nice, Dunechaser! I love seeing these Norse gods and goddesses in LEGO form.
Thor's hammer, Mjollnir, is awesome! I dig the design! I think I would go further and build it with a red lightsaber blade for the handle, as it is sometimes described as "red-hot" in which he needed to wear "iron gauntlets" (made by a frost giantess named Grid) in order to wield it.
I would also love to see your take on his chariot that was pulled by his two goats - their names escape me.
Hel would be another LEGO minifig I'd like to see. She had the upper body of a woman, and the lower body of a corpse or skeleton. *Yech!*
I wish I had some more LEGO to work with, to try my hand at this. You guys impress me all of the time, and Dunechaser, these are so cool!

Well if Thor is supposed to be a redhead, maybe you could slap one of these faces on him:

And maybe one of the prequel Obi-wan hair would match... Or if not, then just give him a helmet.

You might want to check out these Norse pages from Age of Mythology. Its a game made by the same company that created the Age of Empires series.
http://aom.heavengames.com/gameinfo/cultures/norse
Just click on the 3 main Norse gods to get the other gods.
Anyway, I think they're drawings on the pantheons of different cultures looks interesting. In addition to the Norse, there's Greek, Egyptian, as well as the Atlantean gods/titans.
Im wondering if there's any LEGO minifig head that has the half normal woman and half corpse look that the goddess Hel has....
