Wookie - I mean, Bearskin Berserk

Not much to say on this one- cut off a wookie's head [eh, too many of those beasts runnin' around anyway] to make a nice bearskin armor for my berserk. I actually considered carving a beard for a Dwarf, but that takes to much time- and, let's face it, with me and a knife, it probably wouldn't look that good anyway.

The peice is rather fragile- I cut too close to the neck, methinks- and the +like crosshairs are awfully flimsy. But, covered with a cape, it looks great! But see for yourself...

Nevermind on that one.

That's a neat idea. Maybe Lego will take that idea and make some official parts like that (for us purists). And quit making stupid KK2 swords and anime hair...

That's really clever E, excellent work! It's like a furry breatplate.
Will you be entering this in the CCC3? Cause I think it's an excellent piece to consider.

Aside from the somewhat redundant title, nicely done. The frayed cloak matches well. The ambitious thing to do would be to Dremel off the bandolier and resurface the front, but that seems like a lot of work when what is there gets the effect across.

Good idea E! This can be useful...

What gave you the idea?

very very nice. I love the effect.
Like TTK says it would look better without the bandolier, but even with it its nice.
pretty great job seeing what is hidden in a piece.
now if you can figure out how to make a wolfskin headpiece.
anyone have an old werewolf?

I bought a couple of the werewolf heads so I could take a stab at an ulfhednar's wolf-headpiece, but I was put off by the size of the piece. It's just TOO big. The wookie over-piece I saw potential in, but I don't have even a single one, so hats off to Ethan for doing the hair-shirt.

Very clever, looks very realistic. Ive got a few Ewoks lying about, I wonder if they could work in the same way?

I wonder what else would work. I might have an extra wookie, and I have a bunch of ewoks now, but I wonder what other parts might do it.
for instance... i only have one polar bear.. but I am tempted to slice his head off
any thoughts as to which one of
thesemight work best?
(Edit: ps - this is off topic - should an admin split the thread? Ethan do you mind if this goes here?)

Bersarks! Great job, now if we can do that for Ulfsarks, (wolfskins).... and maybe get a Wolf head as a hat.

Not at all!

I was wanting a new something to customize and was digging through my 'duplicates' fig box when I saw about six wookies I has traded [with the intent of makin' an army with crossbows 'n such - armor, spears, the works - for a viable Star Wars strike squad the next time I was drawn into a space war with my (for now, thankfully, castle-fan friends)] and wanted to rip their heads off.

1) I'm not ambitious.
2) I like the bandolier - maybe a quiver strap or scabbard belt?
Anyway, thanks. I'll probably enter this if I can fit it to a Dwarf somehow... I sure do love Dwarves.

Hate to double post, but as this regards an almost entirely different answer...
I made this a while back with only parts from a couple of Viking sets to show the versatility of the molded heads. I don't think I did a very good job, but see for yourself:

I'll let you see how it fits together yourself, but if you really like it I'll post instructions.

Well, you can use the werewolf heads to create a wolf pelt helmet. I did it for my romans. Takes a bit of drilling, sanding and carving, but works fairly well, and certainly gives the desired impression. When coupled with the grey dementor cape it looks simply smashing!
