Purist or customizer?

Post by Modesty »

The Ultimate poll here, Purist or customizer? Somewhere in-between?

I only customize occastionally, Like painting over peach heads, small cuts to modify weapons, and making my custom flails. :D
so, I'm in-between.

I'm a customizer. I make custom helmets and stuff, capes and cloaks, paint pieces, cust up pieces, use decals, etc.

I think I know a couple other people who are customizers too. (Ethan, Freak, Recluce I am talking about you.)

Since this is the 'Castle Customs' section... I doubt you're going to find many purists.

I'm a purist to the core.

Okay, maybe not.

In - between . . . I'm not adamantly opposed to customs, but I also enjoy the challenge of finding a part that will work, as opposed to just making it.

Well, I agree on that as long we're talking minifigs...

Customizer it is.

Purist.

I love to see other people's customs, but I get uneasy when there's even a Sharpie near my Lego.

Purist through and through but I also enjoy other peoples customs.

Only customising I've ever done is to turn a magnifying glass into a druid's sickle.

Purist: anything that exists is open to customization. Sounds pretty darn pure in approach to me. 8)

I am a purist for any piece that is not already broken, misshaped, worn-away, or castle-themed...

However, I must say, when it comes to other themes, broken pieces and the like, I get brave enough to try some creativity... so I chose "somewhere in between".
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar
1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.

Purist.

I'm just not brave enough to mix sets up, and such. Never mind painting or *gasp* cutting up pieces and minifigs. Never gonna happen in my corner of the world.

However, once in awhile I do mix minifig heads and bodies, to make "custom" minifigs. Just the kinda wildman I am! Course, within hours they are back to the way they were "intended". This does bring up the LEGO idea of building whatever comes to mind. I DO absolutely limit myself in the creativity area, but, like I said, I'll sometimes mix and match pieces.

But I DO love to see the customs from the non-purists. You peeps do some amazing stuff, and that's no joke!

Wow! And I was thinking that I was going overboard...
I'm a purist only to stickers/decals and cutting pieces. I don't have any official set fully built right now, only MOCs. I didn't realized that there was this kind of purist... well, this open a new horizon to me. :)

the only things I won't customize are my unique pieces. :D
anything like a pitchfork, black sword, red ghost, are off limits. (not that I have those things, only the pitchfork but you get the idea...)
