Hey All,

Here is a Vig that I worked up this afternoon. It was inspired by the grey 2x4 slope with the dragon printing that I got in the 4696 tub.

It portrays a young "painter", and his rather nervous friend, as they decorate the castle wall under the oblivious nose of the guard.

Hey Josh, that is a rather intresting vig. One of the most orgional Ive seen. I was wondering though what are you using for the paintbrush? Is it an actual paintbrush that came in a set. Or a piece being used as a paintbrush?

wow Josh, that is AWSOME! I like how you used the feather plume as the brush! The guard's face is perfect. :)

Pretty cool. My my, that guard certainly is oblivious (never liked that head, but it works here). That's a cool piece. There is also a matching (left-hand) one, they both came in the T-16 Skyhopper

Learning French.

Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

As always, your work is very cool. What I like most is the construction of the wall--everything from the slopes to the parapets. I definitely want to try that parapet design; thanks for the idea! :)

That is a great little scene, Josh! The action is humorous in its own way, and I like the characters' distinct looks.

P.S. Where did you get that black war pike? Is it another one of your rare piece acquisitions?

Thank you, Kyle. It's the small plume, as J_Chartowich pointed out. It works really good for a quill pen, paintbrush, etc.

Thank you. Yup, you are right about it originally coming in the Skyhopper. The 4696 bucket was supposedly a spare parts/overstock bucket. I guess they made too many of the right handed ones.

Thanks! But I can think of several times my MOCs turned out quite bad. But I'm glad this one works. Feel free to use the wall ideas in there, I haven't made it to my local patent office yet, so they are still free...for now. Actually, I came up with the 1x1s on top because the 1x2s were getting in the way of the guards face, making hard to take a good picture.

Thank you! I really try to get distinct looks on each of my figs. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Glad it worked this time. And, yes, that black pike is a rare piece I found on Bricklink...

Hey Josh,

Great vig! Very clever use of that printed slope, and I also like the overal shape of the wall as well.

I've been looking for a non-space use of that piece since I got a 'couple' in those tubs. Didn't think of this. Well done!

God Bless,

Nathan

Get that boy a piece of cloth to paint in!
Very nice moc Josh, I think that soldier had one too many visits to the tavern. Pity that simbol doesn't come in a 2 brick tall 2x1.

Hilarious vig, Josh! As others have said, the wall design is great, and you've found a unique use for an otherwise distinctly SW piece. I think what makes this vig great, though, is the fig selection -- especially the range of expressions on their faces. Well done!

Thanks! I was real happy with how the wall turned out.

Thanks! Yes, the guard does look kind of hammered and it would be nice to have the symbol on other things. Maybe one of our esteemed customizers could come up with a sticker template.

Thank you, I had a lot of fun getting the figs just right...fig building has become my passion! (Well, one of many)
