Arkham Asylum
Hey all,
You may have noticed this in the past couple of days, but pictures are out for the upcoming Arkham Asylum set:
Follow the link for bigger pics. This set looks fantastic for castle builders - 3 of those ninja sloped wall pieces with the newer pattern, the HP roof in light bley, 2 castle turret tops, tons of curved fences in black, bunches and bunches of basic bricks/plates/slopes, and as for figs the scarecrow is outstanding and the Ivy will also be very useful (though fleshy). I think this is the best non-castle set for us since the HP Graveyard Duel set.
BTW, check out the way the fence is made using these claw pieces:

Gah... I haven´t even got the Graveyard Duel yet... how am I going to afford this?
Very sweet set in other words... the figs are really interesting and I like the sinister look of the Asylum..

My MSN screen name has been changed to "Arkham is teh awesome." That pretty much sums up how I feel about it.

I would have never thought to use ninja walls as a roof - props to the design!

Nice set, I don't know if I'll get it but I can definately see alot of uses for its pieces, beside not being that poorly designed. The figs are a bright spot, lots of them.
OH! and muskets again!!!!

Yeah, the muskets is a really odd choice. The rifle from the western sets would be much better, not to mention those cool new modern weapons developed just for this line.

Holy blunderbuss, batman!
I like all the figs, though it would've been nice to get some new security guard figs (especially a new "minifig of African ancestry" -- hey, I can't assume he's American).

Maybe the muskets are supposed to be some sort of bean bag guns or other similar non-lethal weapon you'd find in an asylum... not that I'm speaking from experience, or anything...

Wow. This set is truely is the Graveyard Duel of the Batman line. I will certainly pick this up. I can honestly not see much I don't like about this set:
Some thoughts that popped into my head as I examined the image:
Cool models!
Cooler parts!
Coolest minifigs!
Three stone slope pieces as roofs: awesome
HP peak roof in dark great: awesome
Lots of brown windows
Plenty of plain black/redbrown/bley bricks
Neat black bike
Van isn't bad
Batman's flyer is lame
Lots of fence pieces, both curved and straight
Black fence gates (can't have enough of those)
Clever way of making spiked fence
Man, I so want this set!

Great pieces in this set!
For the guns, I'd rather have muskets myself, since we can use them in Pirate themed mocs.
I counted 8 of those brown rounded top windows with the twisted bar panes. I'm lacking in those kinds of windows, so this is great to know they're included in this set!
All the characters look fantastic.
I'll probably pick up two of these.
Anyone know how much this set cost?

Hey,
Oddly, if you look closely at the large version of the picture, you can see that four of the windows use the diamond lattice windo piece:
and five of them use the twisted bar piece:
Lenny, do you know if this is the final final final version of the set? That seems like the kind of error that might go into putting together a prototype. It would seem much easier to decide to put 8 of a piece into a set rather than 5 of one and 3 of the other, with very little added benefit, so it doesn't seem right. (BTW, I think it's a pretty good bet that there are three other rounded windows on the walls we can't see.)
If it is a prototype, there is the possibility that the muskets are a temporary stand-in, if, for instance, there weren't any of the new guns available at the time of photography. Personally I'd rather have the new guns because I've got a bunch of muskets.
