Carney's "Torre de Belém"

Postby Jacob C. » Thu Aug 24, 2006 11:29 pm

Bob Carney has finished his 110th castle.
A very unique looking thing!
Sort of a cross between castle and fort.

Despite the monochromatic greyness of it, I like this better than most of his others. And an action shot with soldiers and ships!

Wow. Can you say, gray? Still, it does give it a realistic look, and the pics with the soldiers are nicely done. It's also the first castle I've seen with cannon. Awesome.

This is one of my favorites now. It's all grey but I don't get the "big grey wall" feel with it.

The fight pics are also pretty sweet.

Hey,

This is a great castle to work with. Luis Baixinho has been a little obsessive, continually making new versions of it. Dr. Carney did a great job of recreating some of the decorative elements, and it's particularly nice to see him populate one of his castles, which is fairly rare for him.

Once again Carney does it so we can barely tell the real castle from the lego one! Like Bruce N H said, the decorative elements are really nice.

I agree with that!, I haven`t seen any stickers and wallpieces. I don`t really like his others but this is better :) . Also through the action pics indeed.

This is one of the most emblematic buildings in my country. Really nice to see it so well translated to lego.

Image One of the best representations of my countrie's most emblematic monument. Simly unique. The sacle is perfect. It aint too big nor too small.

It is simply beautiful for a portuguese like me to see the Torre de Belém so greatly represented in Lego.

The windows and doors on the small round towers are stickers.

 Didn`t see it first, stupid... Hmm that`s a minus point for the castle in my opinion.

Heya, you can't see much diffrence between the real and the maked one...
Simply the great work... I like it's all gray and I like how cannons work here with the castle (which I usually don't prefer).

Carney's best building yet  . I love the fact there are people doing castles from my country.
Shelved bricks(???)

This is most impressive. The castle has a smooth look to it and it is very realistic. I have never seen any of his work until now.
