Space
Several threads on various fan websites are discussing the Space theme. I have been given permission to announce that Space will be returning. I can not give any other information on sets or release dates so please do not ask.
It is nice to know that another core theme will be returning.

Space...cool.
My first minifig ever was a blue Spaceman. If I can dig up his/her/its original body parts, I believe the Spaceman's legs are extremely floppy (you all know minifig floppy leg syndrome). The Spaceman's wrists are also loose. I don't think the Spaceman's torso can accept legs or a head anymore (the neck connector is beyond whittled down).
I believe the Spaceman's head (with chipped smile) is now the head of the good Swordsmith (who has since "grown" a long white beard to show his age), a place of honor indeed.
This may or may not have been the set that had my first minifig. All I remember about it is that my mom bought it from the local supermarket.
For resurrecting the Space theme, Pacificus salutes you, LEGO!

That is great news! It is really cool that Lego is truly returning to its roots. I, for one, can't wait to see what is coming out next year.

I love it! I can't wait to see what the come up with. Something original again, hopefully less like the MARS sets and more like the older sets. AND, with this perhaps we will be seeing a return to more classic-type castle sets!

I agree. If LEGO can come up with a decent line, I might start buying sets again. I'd love to see something like a Blacktron 3, with solid-black uniforms, classic smileys, and ships built out of lots of small parts. Ships that look sleek and smooth. Mmm, that'd be good.Formendacil wrote:Provided that "Space" does not, in this context mean "new licensed theme, ala Star Wars" or "KK2/Bionicle ideas sci-fic style" then this is a cause for major celebration.

Learning French.
Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

Can't wait! This sounds sooo cool! I, too, hope that it returns back to the more original space, like the classics. LEGO is finally coming out of IT'S dork ages. Thank you TLC!!!

Thanks for announcing this! Great news, I'm really excited about it. If they keep in the theme of the older sets, they'll make a ton of people really happy.

I suppose I'd have to agree with Formendacil on that idea, except for the champagne-cracking-open, since, as a mixed blessing, I am underage. But anyway, back on topic, welcome back, space(w00t!)!Formendacil wrote:Provided that "Space" does not, in this context mean "new licensed theme, ala Star Wars" or "KK2/Bionicle ideas sci-fic style" then this is a cause for major celebration.
Please excuse me whilst I crack open the champagne.

As someone with divided space/castle loyalties, I have to say this is very, very cool.
Can't wait to learn more.
