Using rascus armor for forest figs

Post by garraofthesand »

what if u bought a lot of rascus figs, changed the heads, and gave them forest man shields? would that constitute as a new faction of forestmen?

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed already...

But I don't blame you for posting this, I couldn't find the topic either...

I don't think it's been "discussed" per se, but the green euro armor has been used with forestmen for a long time; it's common practice now.

I am not really sure what you are asking. Anyone could personlly do this, many of us have our own factions we created by meshing themes and factions, or customs. (here are a couple examples of mine, flur-de-lies, blue stripes).

What im saying is u buy plenty of green jellybean knights, and give them forestman shields. Would those work in place of a forestmen set? Due to the fact that lego does not seem to want to go back to the past. I mean, would you be satisfied with that as a forestman guy for the younger kids who want that?

Hmm. Can't find that topic. Must have been on MCN or something. Sorry.

Personally, I think Lego should start a seperate faction, not try to resurrect the Forestmen. They just wouldn't be the same if they all wore armour...

No offense but that's no excuse, it really is not difficult to scan a few history pages, sure if the topic is 10 pages in no one will blame you, but your excuse should be"I couldn't find it" not "I'm new" :)

On topic: I think lego should just make new factions, they don't have to recreate old ones in new ways. As others have said this idea has been used by mocers for a while, but it is a good suggestion

I would agree with you, partially. They wouldn't be the same with armor. The forestmen were archers, like Robin Hood. On the other hand, I think they should resurrect forestman, but they should do it without changing them. They could just re-release the line.

The rules are listed in the "Administrative" forum under "Terms of Service".

Also here: http://classic-castle.com/tos.html

Now, I'm not trying to say you need to read the rules, but that's the easiest way to find them. This is the first topic for this idea, however I don't think it belongs in "Dear LEGO".

On topic: I think it's a good idea, and as seen here, it looks really good. Unfortunately, I don't have any Rascuses (or any KK2 for that matter...though this year's sets look almost good enough to buy. I have very high standards).

I'm switching this over to Castle MOCs, since it is about making new Castle men from existing pieces.

For the record, here are the proper topics for some of the forums you might have considered for this topic:

LEGO Castle Sets - Discussion of existing castle sets - reviews, etc
Castle MOCs - Anything castle-themed you can build out of LEGO
Castle Customs - Any castle-themed creation that required alteration of LEGO by cutting, painting, decals, etc
Dear LEGO - Communication to LEGO - things like "hey LEGO, you should make a set like this"
