Weekly Minifig Reveiw: Queen

Post by Danju the Clever »

Well, now that I have seen the light from the dread theme of Space, it is time to revisit this board, and that means starting this up again!

Join the (unofficial) weekly minifig reveiw! Rate this week's figure on color scheme, parts, etc. This weeks minifig is...

Queen!
Image
Queen was released in 2000 for the original Knight's Kingdom. Only featured in King Leo's Castle, the torso and slant robe feature several foil elements.

I got that queen, but wasn't it part of the Blacksmit set instead of a castle? I got 2 simular figures.

It first came in this set but then was also released in Dan Siskind's Blacksmith shop without her hat.

heh i actually bought the castle (6098), for a large part, due to the variety of minifigs, and she is 1 big reason :)
a nice design. they should also design a pair of legs for her though (so she can sit down). I personally have not found a suitable pair of legs yet, and I even tried spiderman's legs!

OK that's weird. I know I posted on this thread earlier today ...

I missed out on alot of the female castle minifigs as they often appeared in lines I wasn't particularly interested in & always in the more expensive sets, or during a dark-age. I much prefer this torso to the usual "well-endowed" female torso that appears more often.

I have three of these figs, and I think it's one of the best female castle figs ever (if not the best).

Just as in Bionicle, it's pretty much an unspoken rule in Castle that the ratio of females is at least five to one, if not more. I guess that's great for the chicks (all that variety!) but I'd hate to be a guy in that situation...

Anyway...the fig. I like the red robe, and the blue dress underneath makes a nice mixture. Also the keys are a nice touch. I like the face as it's actually quite pretty, and the level of detail isn't too much (unlike other fig faces of the time).

BTW, does anyone else wonder why this woman wears a pointy black hat?

One of my favorite minifigs. In fact, she may be the best minifig LEGO has ever produced (IMO of course). Honestly, KKI may not have produced many good sets, but it sure did give us some nice torsos. The Knights (and their kettle helms) as well as the Queen are easily the nicest looking Castle minifigs we've had. Hopefully, the next line will take a look at those designs, rather than the horrible KKII ones.

Never done one of these before, well here it goes:

A great figure! I got one of these in Dan Siskind's Blacksmith Shop, without the hat, of course, and then I saw her with the hat in a KK1 set, and I bought a black hat for her. Great minifig all around. Nice detail on her dress.

Thanks,

I just got this minifig on BrickLink, after *ahem* desiring her for some time. :D

I'm with stuifzand -- this is definitely my favorite female Castle fig.

One reason I got her was that I didn't have a single one of her pieces. From her hat to her head to her torso to her skirt, she's wonderful.

She is great. I would buy multiples of her, and with a head replacement (using other female heads) I would have her populate my castle village.

Fantastic minifig.

I've bought the pieces separately from Bricklink, and I do intend to buy more of her.

The red/blue combo is nice, and her face is certainly a candidate for "best female head ever" perhaps even beating Pippin Reid. The printed design on the torso too is wonderful, and in some ways, well, I guess I just like the fact that she's been given "ladyparts". Definately a princess/queen worth rescuing!

Hopefully Lego will continue to make female figures this good though- the town theme could certainly use some!
