Greatest Classic Rivalry
I tried to stick to rivalries inspired by Lego magazines/posters. I was only allowed to enter a limited amount of options, so I had to leave some out. If you selected other please specify in a post what your favorite rivalry is.

I went with Crusaders vs. Forestmen for the simple reason that, in my opinion, they are the two best factions LEGO ever created. But it was a forced choice. I think the dynamic between all three - Crusaders, Forestmen, and Black Falcons, was great. I liked all three.
Forge not works of art but swords of death, for therein lies great art.

My vote is other. My favorite scenes were the Forestmen vs "insert faction here." The forestmen were quite evil by attacking every theme released during the same time period they were in. No lion, black falcon, black monarch, crusader, black knight, or royal knight was safe from a sneaky ambush.

I went for Crusaders vs. Black Falcons. This is when I really started collecting Castle instead of Space, so its got a lot of nostalgia going for it.

You might have pretended that the Black Falcons and the Lion Knights had some sort of rivalry but I never once saw them fighting in the catalogs. I even saw them working together. However, the original Lego© Castle rebel faction, the Forestmen. Were never allied with any of the Lego© Castle SUPERPOWER factions. If you go by how you "played it" then there's an infinite number possibilities, thus, this poll is pointless.
Hehe. Just my opinion.

Wow, I really love that poster, I had forgotten about that one. But about the Black Falcons vs Lion/Crusaders just look at several sets such as 6062 Battering Ram http://www.hccamsterdam.nl/brickfactory ... 62/001.jpg, and the 1990 Idea Book has Black Falcons/Black Knights vs Crusaders.LORD DOOM wrote:This picture says it all.

The BF v Crusaders (Or Lion Knights) just seems the most common rivalry. I've always thought of this as the main one, perhpaps it was inspired by a poster or something, or maybe just the somewhat obvious light/dark comparison.

I voted DM vs. Royal Knights. I've always thought of them as a classic struggle for power and glory, probably because of the emblems: a brave lion and a fierce dragon fighting !
