Thanks! I got most of the dark grey used in this MOC at one time at Brickfest 2005 from the PaB boxes they were selling. 2,500 old dark grey 2x2s for $90, hard to pass up.

He I was wondering if you could get this kinda stuff at brickworld, like Anthony said he got at the B-fest?

I am not sure what you mean. Wasn't Brickworld the predecessor to Bricklink? If so, isn't it no longer here? If you are looking for them, try searching on Bricklink.

The PaB box I bought at Brickfest had nothing directly to do with Brickfest itself. Rather, one of the local LEGO stores near the Brickfest site, the LEGO Outlet store, took orders for boxes of PaB inventory that Brickfest attendees could purchase at cost (or near cost) from the LEGO store.

So if there were to be some sort of similar deal, it would be done with a local LEGO store close to the Brickworld event site.

That doesn't prevent you, however, from raiding the actual pick a brick via the normal channels if there is one available.

Yes, there will be some special deals at the LEGO stores in Chicago for Brickworld attendees, although I don't think there will be a "giant grey bin."

I was at 2 of the LEGO stores on March 1st. The one at Northbrook had 2X2 bricks in old dark gray. Both the Northbrook and the Woodfield Mall LEGO stores also had 4X4X6 quarter cylinder panels in new light gray. (Very nice for 8 stud diameter castle towers.)

We haven't worked out all of the details on what the LEGO stores will have for Brickworld attendees, so I'm not sure yet if Pick-A-Brick will be included, but based on other LEGO events that had special deals at the local LEGO stores, I would imagine that they'll have something.
