One in ten-thousand chance!

Post by Matt BeDar »

I'm not quite sure if this belongs here, but here goes.

TLC has hidden 5 solid gold C3PO minifigs in 10000 boxes of the new StarWars line!

Is that news or what! :D

(Makes me wish I had a job though. :( )

A LEGO Promotion for this summer, 10,000 gold chrome C3PO's randomly inserted in Lego SW sets (battlepacks not included). And there's a sweepstakes for 5 Solid Gold C3PO's. The Solid Gold ones are not in the boxes but you have to enter the sweepstakes.

This was also brought up in the March-April edition of Lego Magazine. (Yes, I still get it.)

Yes, I've seen this before. Maxi is right; I mean, how could you put 5 figs in ten thousand sets? Anyway, this is cool. I don't really care about C-3PO, but I'd love to have a gold one.

Sorry for the bad wording.

I meant that there were 5 solid gold C3PO's hidden in 5 of 10000 boxes.

Although apparently I was wrong about that, sorry.

Sheesh, I need to read things more carefully from now on.

The speculation for the solid gold C-3PO has been talked about highly. A regular C-3PO averages on BrickLink for 15.00. People are expecting the gold chrome C-3PO for 150.00+. And the Solid Gold one, well at least 500.00 judging by the price of gold, but expect to see it on eBay for 5k+. So yea, if you sold it, you can buy a ring for that proposal. ;)

Wow, I have two that I don't really treat well. I thought they were pretty common. Shows how much I buy Lego online.

This has given me a new reason to buy large quantities of SW sets. And fig packs for the Megablocks of it. I wonder if they will ever do this with castle (imagine: platinum black falcons!)

I don’t think this information is quite accurate.

Ahhh…this sounds much more accurate. Thank you.

Glad that was cleared up. Otherwise we would have some sort of Wonka frenzy looking for those Gold tickets.

I'll bet it wouldn't be tough to detect the weight difference between a set with a regular fig and a solid gold one. But if I find one, do I get a chance to inherit the company? Because that would be sweet!

But you also run the risk of being turned into a blue brick or attacked by Lego sorting squirrels...
