The past few iterations of KK included kings and heroes and Vladek with almost every single set, with nary a regular soldier to be found. But with this line, we get little sets like the crossbow attack to build with, plus the tic-tac-toe and chess sets. Um...the chess sets started with KK2 , and th...

How about this: even though undead minifigs are completely useless to me, I still love the new sets. I can't say enough about the Crown Knights. I think their colors and heraldry is truly excellent--best I've seen since the Black Falcons. My favorite part about the new line is that once again it's p...

The shield switches sides and is smaller, and the "a" of "Castle" is inside the "C" on one picture and outside on another. And I think the "T" is bigger in the one, unless it just looks like that because of the bend in the book.

Colleges and universities also first appeared at this time.
I think Plato might have a bone to pick with you about that one.

People in this thread seem to be throwing around the term "baseplate" quite indiscriminately. By baseplate, are you referring to a single baseplate, one large 32x32 or 48x48 baseplate, or a series of smaller 16x32, 16x16, and 16x8 baseplates? Curiosity beckons. What I'm saying is a basepl...

What I mean is that I don't like the whole hinges deal. I like castles constructed around baseplates. Well, that's the first time I've heard that opinion. I also don't share it - I find baseplates cumbersome and limiting - though if that's your opinion then go ahead. - Matt To me, baseplates make c...

Overall, I really love Vladek's. The dark red and black is a very striking color scheme. The drawbridge is really cool, as are all the "extras" in the interior, such as the table with crystal ball, the fireplace, and even simple things like the stairs. One thing I really love about this se...

I will be picking up all of the sets. However, as to how many of each, multiples of everything save the two fortifications. The only problem would be where to put it all. :!: :) Ditto for me. I'll be picking up all the sets and probably 3 of the crossbow attack, maybe 2 jousts. My only problem is w...

My "englightenment" to and subsequent dark age from LEGO was pretty dramatic. I never owned any Legos before 1992, when I spent all my Christmas money on the Dungeon Master's Castle (6086). It goes to show you what a great castle that was. I didn't have any other Legos, but that set just s...
