The Creator Castle set idea is one that's come by many times, and I really like that idea, it would have great play value with kids, and give us a chance to stock up on our gray bricks.
They sort of tried it before but I'm sure we all agree they can do much better:

Well, there were requests for more classic stuff. What's more classic than a yellow castle?Aliencat wrote:The Creator Castle set idea is one that's come by many times, and I really like that idea, it would have great play value with kids, and give us a chance to stock up on our gray bricks.

Re: Some love for Castle
You speak as if that idea was over and done with, but since they've replaced 6193 with this set: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=5929-1, I don't think that it's a dead concept. I actually found 6193 quite useful for replenishing a lot of my basic bricks and thought it was quite a cute little set. If they produce similar sets in the future, something about the size of the Creator log cabin, or the lighthouse would be really handy. But to get back on the topic, I agree with your original post that the castle theme is not unloved. I think that many of the new sets seen for the past several years reflect the feedback directly from this corner of the room.Aliencat wrote:The Creator Castle set idea is one that's come by many times, and I really like that idea, it would have great play value with kids, and give us a chance to stock up on our gray bricks.

Re: Some love for Castle
I'm really late to this party, but I would love to see a taj mahal/tower bridge style castle or cathedral. This would be an incredible parts pack for castle fans, but it would also make for a fantastic model. A genuinely large minifig-scale castle would approach $1000, but a micro scale castle could be done for $200-400 and would be a perfect starting point for would-be castle builders looking to go big. It's also one of the few ways we'd end up with a religious structure as I don't see LEGO doing a minifig scale church anytime soon.

Wow, that's the message my thread gave? I was just trying to point out that Lego is focusing more on Space. But oh well. Personally, I'd love to see a gray brick tub, loots of 1x2 bricks and arches would be nice in said tub.Aliencat wrote:Despite a topic titled No love for Castle in this very Dear LEGO forum

Re: Some love for Castle
I know TLG would never do this kind of set of grey bricks, it would be ripped from the store shelves But this is absolutely what they should consider to do . This is a thing that I could consider beg on my knees Lego to do (like it would help ) the other being a minifigure set of New FalconsYe Olde Republic wrote:I've been quite happy these past few years but it TLG really wants to please me, they can do one simple thing for me:

Re: Some love for Castle
I have 2 sets of 5929 and it has a good sortiment of bricks and a good prices but more greys would be good. Then I have 1 brickmaster castle book with bricks. But theres the problem that if you start stocking up bricks from this set then what to do with the books.Frank_Lloyd_Knight wrote:You speak as if that idea was over and done with, but since they've replaced 6193 with this set: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=5929-1, I don't think that it's a dead concept. Re: Some love for Castle
I'd like to see some broadening of the castle horizon, into other places and eras, but that's just me. Romans, Greeks, Samurai, Medieval Islam, Byzantine, and Conquistadors would all be fun diversions from the main castle theme, and could be done in a way simaler to the vikings from 06 (i think ). Granted, all of these would be just a bit more specific then lego's usual castle themes, but the vikings were a Scandinavia specific theme, as the ninja theme was Japan specific, and the Western theme was USA specific, so I think lego could get away with it. Just my hope, an unlikely one, but still a fun thought.
Edit: Also, much easier and more likely, I'd love to see a generic castle faction sporting the Fleur de Lis, or anything else that isn't an animal for that matter, as their faction symbol.
