Weekly Set Review: Wolfpack Renegades
This is a great set, one of the best carts. More wolfpack sets like a village hideout or the link below would be great.

This set is awsome!
Okay it's not perfect, but any set with two wolfpackers, tons of weapons, and a good design gets a 9.0 from me.I unfortunately do not own this set as I have onely been into legos for five years
Re: Weekly Set Review: Wolfpack Renegades
I got this set when I was a kid. I loved that it had the hidden compartment, I also loved having the Wolf Pack because they were bad guys but not totally evil. Almost a non-forest theme Robin Hood.

Had this set as a kid. Loved the play features on the wagon and enjoyed having the Wolfpack bandits. Really liked getting minifigs with capes and cowls.

Hey,
I'm surprised I didn't comment on this set when it was up before. This is one of my favorite small castle sets of all time. Of course I love the wolfies, the design of the cart is really nice, including the hidden compartment, and there are seven weapons for two guys, which is unheard of these days. That's a great flag element as well.

One of the first sets I ever received and still one of my favorites. I still have the figures in my collection, but they have suffered a lot of play wear. these minifigs were some of my favorite to play with as a kid!

I remember this as a nice set, extra weapons, Wolfpack figures, decent cart, good deal of play value. 9/10.

I liked the figures and the weapons included with this set, but I always despised the blue color scheme. Give me black (or better yet, brown!) any day when it comes to a cart.

Re: Weekly Set Review: Wolfpack Renegades
Since they did not really have much brown yet it'd have to have been black- and black with black might have been a bit bland.
Not much new to add. I have three of these and I love them. Sadly two are missing many of their parts but I I think they are a clever set.

Re: Weekly Set Review: Wolfpack Renegades
This was perhaps the ONLY Wolfpack set I owned, sans the castle mini-fig pack that came with 1 WP fig. However, I know WP was next to the Bulls of KKI as the least produced faction.
To the goods: I'm sure this has been reiterated over and over, but this set is a CASH COW for goodies! It's a top-notch [traveling] armory, and one of the first castle sets to include the crossbow. In addition to the crossbow [originating from the Pirates line], the WP figs bore faces from the Pirates line as well, parlaying castle away from the mono-yellow smiley faces. Finally, the gray hawk was a re-colored transition from the Pirate Parrot but no less fun to include. And fitting to the "moody" atmosphere that the WP represented.
To boot, the blue wagon pieces struck me as being VERY rare, especially for a castle construct. Also, the secret compartment was a growing part of Lego's "surprise technology", so very innovative for its day and FANTASTIC to play with!
Only two figs with this set, but WP was rare, and the weapons cache MORE than made up for it. Two figs was standard for this size so no surprise there.
You can't get much better than a set like this for diversifying your collection while plumping up your weapons, etc.
9.5/10

Re: Weekly Set Review: Wolfpack Renegades
I might be reading this incorrectly, but are you suggesting that the crossbow first appeared in the Pirates line? I don't remember this, and so I checked Bricklink. I can't see any Pirates sets included in the list of those containing crossbows (link). There are three Castle sets from 1990 with crossbows, which is where I first encountered them (6018-Battle Dragon, 6081-King's Mountain Fortress, 6059-Knight's Stronghold). Do you remember what Pirates sets had crossbows? My curiosity has been piqued.Sir Prog wrote:It's a top-notch [traveling] armory, and one of the first castle sets to include the crossbow. Re: Weekly Set Review: Wolfpack Renegades
I think that this is the only Wolfpack set that I have. I wish that Lego had expanded the line a little bit because they made a great addition to the Castle series. I'd like to buy the rest of the Wolfpack sets but they are a bit pricey...

I went scouring through bricklink and I stand corrected on the Pirates/crossbow comment. It's funny how the mind "remembers" things from way back.Handar wrote:I might be reading this incorrectly, but are you suggesting that the crossbow first appeared in the Pirates line? Bummer. That was not the answer for which I was hoping.Sir Prog wrote:I went scouring through bricklink and I stand corrected on the Pirates/crossbow comment. It's funny how the mind "remembers" things from way back.
