The Trials of Roland (My Comic-Book Contest Entry)

Post by R_The_Falcon »

Hello all, this is my comic-book entry for the Classic Castle Story Contest. Being loaded down with school made this entry a rough draft, if that! Nevertheless, it's all I had time to do. Should only take about 15 minutes to read/view. Enjoy!

A few notes here before the critiques:

(1) The lighting is off on a lot of frames, this is because I didn't have time to find a real good viewpoint.

(2) The frame bubbles are off occassionally too. I was low on time.

(3) Spoiler warning The bad guy's demise is, well, a bit surprising and unsatifactory. Originally, I was going to have some frames with the bad guy and the good guy fighting during a large amount of lightning going through the clouds. As the the bad guy picks up his axe, he get's fried. This would make since, considering he's wearing heavy metal armor, he's on the sea, and with that giant axe he's a walking lightning rod!

(4) Some of the frames don't flow together well. Why? You guessed it! I was low on time.

I probably won't make the official version (116 frames long) unless somehow, in some weird way I were to win the contest. Hope yall enjoy!

The sun was supposed to be glaring off of the helmet from Roland's perspective. That's why he noticed it. Of course, up in a tree you could probably notice any ambush.

Hey, this pretty awesome. It does seem a bit unfinished, but I completely understand that lack of time. I have the same problem.
