13 little vampire vigs

Post by Maedhros »

So, finally I have enough fleshies to do something with my beloved vampires...

This is based on a roleplaying game called Vampire the Masquerade where the vampires are divided into 13 different clans. So now I have one vig per clan to represent them. I got the inspiration for this while listening to the "soundtrack" for the game, where every clan has a theme song so I have included a strip of the song for every vig as well.

Also, please remember that this deals in foul creatures that are bestial at best and perverted and twisted at worst ;)

Ravnos
Thieves, murderers and tricksters. Famous (and infamous) for their expretise in illusions.

Lasombra
A clan of nobility fallen from grace. Now they are little more than wicked perverts and they take special pleasure in twisting the Christianity that they once patronized.

Tzimisce
The Tzimisce once ruled the vast forests of Eastern Europe but in this era they are little more than freak-shows. Renowned for their skills in flesh- and bone-crafting.

Followers of Set
They hail from Egypt and call themselves servants of the ancient god Set. In an effort to free people of the shackles of law and order they seduce and tempt mortals to give in to their "darker impulses".

Ventrue
The aristocracy of the night. Conservative and traditionalistic, Clan Ventrue sits in the high ebony tower and rules over the other vampires.

Gangrel
Regarded as animals and beasts by other vampires. It´s justified though since they as time passes by turn more and more bestial and gain animal traits. They excel in shapshifting and command of animals.

Malkavian
The lunatics and madmen of the night. Tormented by their inner demons they are cursed with an eternity of insanity.

Assamite
They see themselves as judges over the other vampires while others simply view them as deadly warriors and assassins... with an unsettling thirst for the blood of vampires.

Brujah
Formerly they were the visionaries and philosphers of the night but now they are little more than aggressive punks and anarchists.

Nosferatu
Cursed forever with a twisted appearance that mirrors the foul nature of the vampires. Most often they hide in the sewers.

Giovanni
Little is known about the Giovanni. But do we wish to know? Mostly known as incestuous necrophiliacs and necromancers. Most sensible vampires leave them alone.

Tremere
It´s rumoured that this clan was once a guild of mages who became vampires in a quest to find immortality. Probably true since they still practice blood magic and dabbles in more or less twisted rituals and practices.

Toreador
The artists and cultural elite of the night. They are passionate beings who still try to remember their dead emotions and blend in with the humanity.

And.. slideshow! (with music)

Enjoy!

These are amazing! Most time when I see a series like this, all released at once, they seem poorly or quickly built. These are just the opposite. Also, the lack of clutter (streeght lights on the motorcycle vig, ect) serves only to make the vampires stand out.
I really can't say anything negative about these.
Good work!

Very creepy. Not jibbly creepy, but the kind of creepy that makes you sit up at night with a baseball bat eyeing your window.

Excellent work! The mix of fleshies & yellow heads looks very effective.

Wow!! 13 different vampire vigs, this is very good work. I like how they are all completely different from each other. The background information on each one was quite a good read.

I would have to say my favourite vig is the Tremere.

Uhm, yes.. but what does that have to do with this topic? ;)

Maybe I should try the medieval counterparts next since this is Classic Castle after all.....

Oh, and I forgot to mention; Lenny deserves credit for the undercut idea.

They are a little sparse, but I guess that fits with the subject matter. I also find them to be quite disturbing and dark...

I do, however, love the use of fleshtone to illustrate (to coin a new word) undeadedness.

Interesting how the fleshies work so well as vampires...
I like the backstories, very original. But I have to say that the "bone throne" is my favorite part. Nicely done.

Well, that was a bit of the point with doing vampire vigs ;)

They are a bit sparse but that was because I wanted to have focus on the figs. Also I chose early on to use mostly blacks and greys with some white and brown to try to keep the mood of the vampires despite depicting them in LEGO form. I have tried to do "dark" creations before and realized that LEGO just ends up looking garish and happy as soon as you put colour in there. I think you can see it here as well with the Assamite vig where I used white, blue and green and afterwards I can see that it was probably too much, it really breaks up the mood of the other vigs... or maybe I´m just overanalysing it :P Mostly though I think (and judging from your reactions) I succeeded in getting a dark and disturbing feel, with the Malkavian being the most disturbing IMO...

Hmm... do I detect a new trend here?
