I just miss the inclusion of ABS plastic capes maiden's hats and other elementia of civies common to the Black Falcons era. A troop is worthless without a village to protect/plunder.

Ah yes! 6073 Knight's Castle was my first large Lego castle as well. The Black Knights are my top faction in the old collection at home.
This is a solid set with a good amount of mini figures. I really, REALLY miss the Black Falcons and all of their black and blue glory. I never considered them the 'bad guys' to the Lion/Crusaders, but just their more Bad Assed allies that took care of business.

6073 doesn't hold a candle to 6074 as either a castle or a parts pack. Alltough it was my first BF castle, it simply doesn't stand well next to its newer sibling with those amazing corner walls. A few extra shields and flags mean nothing when compared to the 12 corner wall bricks. This castle is the foundation to most of my castle MOCs. I only had one copy as a child, however when the LEGEND variation arrived, I picked up a bunch simply for the piece selection.
6074 = the greatest parts pack ever made!

You know, I have found that while I love those corner wall sections as well, and all other Castle wall elements (they are just so pretty!), I almost never use them in MOC castles. Now if we were talking the rounded ones from the SW Droid Escape and the HP Buckbeak Escape tower set it would be a different story...

I must agree I never use those wall elements in MOC's. I guess I am just trying to build with bricks, like in Medieval times.
Does anyone like this set?

It has to be one of my favourites as the pieces in it are great, and it was on the market at a cheap enough price. That's why I got so many

I have one of these sets, its awesome, but alas it has faded with time and instead of being white its more of a yellow colour now. It also went well with set #1584 Knights Challenge

But seeing as how I missed out on those COMPLETELY I had to settle for these on clearance sales:

and I'm hoarding ONE of these just for the same parts:

The rest is extra bits...

The thing is, the Droid Escape corners aren't as versatile. They severely limit the number of possible diameters one can produce. The corner walls are an effective way of making seemingly round towers in a variety of sizes. With the Droid wall bricks, a large tower simply seems to have rounded corners.Count Blacktron wrote:You know, I have found that while I love those corner wall sections as well, and all other Castle wall elements (they are just so pretty!), I almost never use them in MOC castles. Oh, and you will NEVER find the standard 6x5 castle wall piece visible on my castles. I use them to build pilars to elevate landscapes (for which they are VERY useful).

Though it's not strictly BF, I'd say 6059 as well, just 'cause I finally got a falc with the cool visor and breastplate. I also really liked the catapult that his squire/man-at-arms was using. It's one of the better catapults TLC ever made as it had something close to a proper counterweight and just looked better than something with a pad for your finger to hit and no weight at all (KKII  ) I actually made a second for my BF artillery unit. (they look great next to one another)C0M3_GeT_5OME wrote:I liked all the black falcon sets. One of my favourites (though) was 6059, I know it was a black knight wall/gate but it was the only set where the black falcons had the newer armour with visor.
Gdday,

When I was a lad my mother told me that if I stood around all day with my mouth open a weasel was liable to mistake it for his den and jump right in. If you have something to say, say it, otherwise, beware of weasels.

Black Falcons´ Fortress was a great IMO. Great figs (what Falcon isn't great?) and a large amount of bricks. A friend of mine owns it.
