Durza

Post by Anubisconq »

I have finally finished my custom Durza minifig. It took me a long time to get the decal right...

Anyway, enough chatter, here is the fig. Clicky

Constructive Criticism welcome, but since the Eragon series is only liked by a small gathering, if you don't like the books, please refrain from ventilating your feelings on my fig. Thanks.

I've read (and hate) the Eragon books, but that doesn't stop me from liking an awesome fig!

The sword works very well, I especially like the shortened (and sharpend) blade. Good work!

Very cool. I like how you modified the chrome sword.

Thanks E. Yeah, I'm not crazy about the books either. I do Battling every once in a while, and a Shade had a high hit point and moving rank. That's pretty much why I made the fig. I mainly don't want to turn this into a thread where fans and haters lash out at each other. Especially since that'll get the thread locked...

I personally have not read the books, so I don’t really know who this character is supposed to be, but I too can appreciate a very well made custom. This guy looks great ,and somehow very powerful (I am not sure why!).

Bring on the carnage, let the fans fight it out to the death.

Ok…maybe not then.

Yeah, I had one thread that turned into a debate over religious signatures. One guy even got kicked off the site.

G2, would you like me to explain who the character is? I'd be happy to link you to Wikipedia.

I liked the books, they were my type of books, but the movie wasn't so good... Anywho, this fig is amazing. I can't wait to see another one.

I really, really like this figure! He looks almost exactly like I pictured him when I read the book! Amazing!

I agree that this seems to be an almost perfect LEGO realization of the movie character - excellent use of the different pieces to make him up, as well as the chest decal and custom sword.

I must confess I am a huge fan of that Anakin head... it is full of uses.

I never knew there was a scratch on his sword... but then, I've only seen the movie, so I must have missed it?

Anyway, great job, once again~

I am one who likes the Eragon books very much. I have read Eragon and Eldest. Eragon is my favorite book I have ever read, and it's what inspired me to write my first novel. But Eldest seemed to be very drawn. You could read the beginning, then the end and get the whole picture of the book. I was also extreamly dissapointed in the movie. It cut too much out, and yes I know they can't put everything in, but the movie isn't even feature movie length (2 hours)!

But to the figure. It looks exactly like Durza is in the movie, although the movie version isn't what I thought Durza was like. From the scars on his face to scratch on his sword it is a mirror image of the movie Durza. Amazing work on the decal aswell.

Unfortunately for me, I saw the movie before I read the book. Naturally, this image stuck with me. My biggest complaint against the movie character is that he has BLUE eyes. What is up with that? The book distinctly says, "Crimson". Sheesh.

Well if you want to get technical...

I actually sharpied another head's eyes red, but it doesn't show up in front of the black. Grr...
