Leo's Castle by Quickblade

Post by Quickblade22 »

I thought I'd share this before I try something else with it. It is my King Leo's Castle that I made about a year and a half ago. It is modular for easyier transport and is enclosed all around. No real roof though, which is why I'm bothered by it. I think I'll try blue with more yellow in the design next time. I ran into trouble with having too much space and not enough ideas that I liked  There's alot I don't like, but I think it's still neat. So heres some pics.

hello,

I like it, it reminds me of something I would build with bricks provided.
What I really like is the tomb entrance? kinda inspires me to make an interior onto that.

keep up the good work. :D

Wow!

I like this a lot! The main grumble I have is the yellow/blue floors. They just don't make it for me.

The throne room is fantastic. I like the Kind/Queen/magicians seats.

The "good-night kiss" thing is great! I like how you took the picture through a window, like there was someone either spying on them, or even just happening to notice.

Good job overall!

I have no complaints about this castle. All I can say is that this castle is a work of art! Very well done Quickblade22! I especially like the balcony on the back and the audience chamber! Once again very well done IMO!

Design is good, but a few of the plates that make up the wall that are yellow annoy me a little. Other than that I think I know that you probibly ran out of pieces, so with that in mind good job! :D

If you could hide the yellow and blue plates by surrounding them with grey to make them look more like carpet or tile, that might help. I've always liked those colors with the King Leo bunch when they blend well. Nice work and I enjoy your details very much.

Thanks for the compliments. norse god oden: I'd like to see the results of the tomb interior should you give it a try. Maybe add a door, which I foolishly left out  Everyone else: The kiss picture was blind luck. I put the camera to the window and shot. I thought it was gonna get a different angle of the throne room. As for the blue and yellow floor, I wanted to add more color to the moc and ran low on pieces. The yellowed walls are a product of growing up in a smoke filled home and mixing up some pieces with a friend that didn't take very good care of his Lego. No more smoke though I can't rule out the possibility of acquiring heavily played with Lego in the future. Matt BeDar almost convinced me to leave the castle intact, but I'll try something different. :D Here is the gallery when moderated: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=259876 Thanks again.

Once again I am thoroughly impressed by your attention to the small details such as the guards near the tomb and the addition the backsmith and the stable. The use of this particular raised baseplate gives me a good idead that this somewhat cumbersome baseplates can be used as a part of a great MOC. A true insperation.

I don't think you should put a roof on it. It looks sweet without it.
