Both the creation, which is teeming with great architecture, and that tan tile collection, which is huge, are very impressive.

Oh good, so somebody else noticed that they're dark tan.

Anyway, very nice temple. A whole one would be cool, but this is very nice.

And 'deserted' doesn't seem the right word... more like 'evacuated,' because it's still in pristine condition—more or less.

I really like how the Lion heads wear used on those obelisks. It those were human faces they would've made for a good Necromonger temple (ala Chronicles of Riddick).

Ha ha! My first impression was : "wow, that's a lot of tan tiles" I guess we are all short on tiles!

The temple is very nicely done and I'm impressed at how well the backdrop fits in. However, I would have not guessed that a lone "Cowpack" kinight would have gone looking for this destered temple. I guess he has an inner spirituality I never recognized--or he just got lost.

Nice use of the dark tan tiles. However, I fail to see anything "eastern" about this MOC. Can you enlighten us? :?

I've never thought to use the lion heads like that... cool! It's been some time since I've looked at some of your MOCs, but this is as good as I've come to expect from you.

Very foreign indeed to the bull knight, and very cool... expansive and large like temple should be, and very desolate too. I think the sky background might be affect that.

All of those flat tiles... wonderful... and wonderful effect.

It reminds me of Persia, Sumeria, perhaps a Babylonian area? Or some of the middle eastern areas... not the far east, mind you, but the eastern hemisphere. Unless it's just his own world, in which case anything goes. :P

I'm not sure why, but it also reminds me of the old star trek, with Captain Kirk beaming to a planet that has a mysterious temple and no one seems to be around... of course, I've been watching too much old star trek lately, so it could be that. Heh heh heh.

As with all your buildings this one has that nice clean design to it. I'm always impressed by how well your buildings come across in pictures.

For me I'd like to see half of it "ruined" just to give it that ancient flavor, but you guys know I'm into broken up buildings and such.

Thanks all for your comments/critiques.

There's really no backstory to this as I was just in the moment of building it as a PoC (Proof of Concept) much like the arena dome before it. The top of the pillars were inspired by the Chronicles of Riddick as JPinoy mentioned. The four lion heads have already been used in a similar fashion for a fountain.

Yes, it pays to know the Lego store staff when new stock comes in for the PaB as I got first dibs on those dark tan tiles when they arrived.
