Next wave?

Post by xbloodyfangs »

I know theres a thread about what sets LEGO should make for the new theme, but I made this one to to see which sets you guys think TLC will (realistically) make. Hope that's ok.

Anyway, I think probably a new faction will be introduced, with 5 sets (like usual). Most likely two-three small sets, one medium sized set, and one expensive one.

I think Lego will change to minifigs slightly, like they did with KK2, and then release more sets which are similar to the current ones.

From what I noticed, LEGO always include these when they create a new faction:

A joust set.
A catapult set.
A tower set.
And the obvious one, a big castle set.

Does a change in minifigs mean that they will produce crown knight minifigs once again through 2008? Or does that mean that a new faction will come out but released in small minifig sets? I'm confused

They got geometric designs instead of animals for their heraldry, different shields, and then eventually mail armors and new, less "flamboyant" colors.

Hmmm .. I think Lego is going to surprise us and actually have a well thought out 2nd wave for the new Castle line. This isn't KKII anymore... a less rigid storyline will open up the possibility for more varied sets.

I think they want us to be happy too ...

Everything in this thread is speculation and wishlist material. Just keep that in mind at all times. Thank you. 8)

A little speculation and wishing is healthy sometimes :) I also like a little bit of hearsay on occasion--the “dwarf set" that has pictures floating around would suggest that the crown knights are staying around in some form or another with minifig changes.

I’m willing to speculate that they will play off the success of the initial Castle 07 release for another two years and follow a pattern not unlike KKII—08 will bring us more villain sets including a more expansive Necromancer castle (ie—Vladek’s Dark Fortress). 09 will be the drawing down of the line and there will be sets like the “Battle at the Pass” which feel strangely detached from the rest of the theme. By 09 we’ll all be sick of the crown knights and be clamoring for something new.

I hope they do build more sets. I like the current theme, even if I don’t love the evil faction (I prefer my baddies to be living.)

The castle looks a little more traditional, perhaps they will go back to the old magic. The skeleton tower is a perfect example: save the princess from the evil wizard and dragon-guarder tower with the heroic knight. Seems to be more medieval than, Rascus takes on a whole army by himself. Or Jayko, or whatever...

An orc fort, kinda like cross between the King's Castle Siege and the Viking Fortress?

Some kind of Dragon-keeping place where the evil wizard has a particularly nasty dragon (or the main/leader dragon) held captive? ala Dark Dragon's Den?

A troll cave?

I think that the second wave will flip the large sets. The skellies will get a large castle and the crownies will recieve a the $50 set.

Lego should do something different like have multiple big castles for each theme's faction.
