I'm actually pretty optimistic. Not only did they do such a good job with turning around the castle line (which is selling very well, I hear), but they've gone back to more classical, brick-built designs in many of their themes. Some of the town line especially have a very classic feel to them.

Discworld?

Post by gargarith »

Is it just me, or does the Troll look a little like Detritus from Discworld? With all those Dwarves, someone might be able to make a Thud set of LEGO. If you haven't heard of Discworld, then I probably make no sense to you...

Hmm... May have to add a THUD set and Gimlet's Dwarf Delecetessan to my list of MOC ideas... I wonder if it's possible to hang the rats from their tails....

I forget... do you need four or eight trolls for a game of thud? (you can just tell i'm going to dig out my copy of the novel now...)
My Other sig is funny. Honest.

8 Trolls to a set, and 32? Dwarves. Enough rubber bands solves everything, as for the second comment. Angua and Carrot would be an interesting pair in Lego, but a CMOT Dibbler would be more intertaining.

So the new Castle line has an LOTR/Warcraft style influence.

Humans & Dwarves -vs- Undead and Orcs

I can't wait for an "Elves" set... :P

Elves... lol what a joke. Everyone knows Night Elves are raised to be arrogant twinks!

Although elves? hmmmm.... How would lego make elves anyhow? they wouldn't make a huge head with ears sticking out now would they?

My guess would be simply a elvish-type torso print, helmet/headgear, face print and weapons.

It would certainly be more "lego-ish" if they did that.

You need 8 trolls and 32 dwarfs, the idea being that 1 troll is worth 4 dwarfs. You should also do some dwarfs dancing around the cottage that is meant to flatten Nanny Ogg, that'd be a laugh!!!

Dwarfs Mining
6-12 Years.
... but the beards make them look older. ;)

Ok ok, shhh... I know.

From what I can see of it, this looks like a great parts set. I'll just convert the mine into the missing portion of gate that we needed with the new ship set and use the minifigs elsewhere. Not a problem at all. Well, except that if they keep this up, I'll be broke in no time...
