#5615 The Knight

Definitely in my top ten best castle sets of all time. And it beats the pants off of the Defense Archer not only because of the suit of armor instead of the extra crossbow, but because if I buy forty copies of THIS set, I won't have forty 4x4 black turntables to deal with. Sigh... I hate 4x4 turntables...

Also of note is that I was originally going to buy several copies of the Knight's Catapult Defense because for $10 I got two figs each with a shield, and is the cheapest set in the 2007 lineup to offer one.

With this set, for almost the same price I can get three figs, three shields and three suits of armor, without having to worry about all those blasted brown wheels and half barrels I'd have to collect. Granted I'd get the two extra skeletons in the Catapult set, but each suit of armor can easily be turned into a heavily armed knight, so I count it as 6 figs total.

Granted, the Crossbow Attack is still a better value for number of soldiers, but it doesn't give you near the accessories.

Bottom line - God help me if they ever offer a bulk discount on this set.

I couldnt agree more. I only ordered 3 of this set, as I wasnt sure what I would think of it and I have other spending priorities over the Christmas Season. These are a great little set. I would say that this set compares favorably with similar Classic Castle sets and is a great value in today's market. I do worry a little about availability, when and where will these sets be for sale at normal retail outlets... will retail outlets even opt to carry the impulse sets? Other than that, I do plan on getting a few more once finances are back on track. Two years ago I would have never dreamt that sets like this would be available. I hope Lego continues this great idea... and of course... the more we buy of them, the more likely Lego is to make more.

Looks good. Though how well does Jayko's baby blue match the light blue of the crown knight's shield?

The shield color is a little darker, but not so much as it doesn't go well together.

Granted, however, I'd rather use a fig similar to the crown knights (dark blue body, light grey arms), but hey, this way I don't have to lose a crown soldier.

Where did you pick this set up at? Hopefully at a retail store because I'd rather buy it there than online.

The silver euro armor is so great!

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I bought it and three like it off S@H. I have to drive 14 hours to get to my nearest LEGO store.

Yep, I recieved my order of 20 two days ago and I am quite impressed.
I'd give this set a 9.9 out of 10. The reason it doesn't get a full 10 is because there's one thing missing...plumes!

I ordered 75 last week and I don't even have my 'it has been shipped' notice yet

My jelousy runs over.

Thanks for sharing the review, now my desire is even stronger (for the set)

I recieved my ship notice e-mail the same day my order arrived.
I think shop@home is running slower because of the holiday season.
